Title: lets have a bit of a chat
Post by: PANZERCATWAGON on March 02, 2009, 03:57:41 am
vijchti said something about talking to each other, so i figured why not make a new topic about it. rather than clogging up the interesting masturbation thread

there have been a fair fair new faces around lately so i think vijchtis suggestion would be a good thing to try just to bring a bit of community feeling back

personally id like to hear about this jamaican hut building thing 4yo was supposed to have done. mainly because i already know about jrgps porn sites and i already ask church about the army

i would also like to know what you are up to vijchti. in general. where do you work and what as

anyways im shit tired speak to yall later

Okay, to make matters interesting, I've attached the source code of the image CMS I built for my porn site. It has instructions and usage examples in readme.txt. It's very well thought out and even makes the pix proportional in size and allows for arrow key picture navigation (useful when wanking and not wanting to touch mouse to see next pic). Enjoy. (requires php5, php5-gd, and mysql)

My parents bought me a 19" LCD because they thought CRT's give out harmful radiation.

I'm liking it alot, but they could have saved $50 by getting it from Tiger Direct.

hah same here almost exactly! My mom made me put my two huge CRT's in my closet and spent $400 on two identical 19" LG Flatron's. :)

The screen is a Acer X193w. I was expecting dead pixels, however this thing isn't as shitty as I expected, it's actually pretty decent.

Is Acer supposed to be crappy, or am I confusing it with something else?

My second PC was an Acer. Ahhhh... Windows 3.1 those were the days.

Well, over the summer my mother and I went for a week to jamaica with a group of 13, two of which being career nurses (for when someone inevitably became dehydrated)  and we all left the airport in Philadelphia for Montego Bay. in that one week our church sent 2 teams (2 houses) and a church in ohio sent 3 teams (3 houses) which was the most at any time that CSI had ever done.

The service down there Christian Service International had bought a house built by a politician for substantially less than it was worth as a bit of charity, it was a huge house and a guest house with plenty of bedrooms. It was on the top of a mountain I'll find a picture of the view from their chapel area.  Its very hot over there during the summer but theres usually a breeze and the houses are built to let in a lot of air.  it rained once a day and the humidity during the day was always very high. (http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A3%3Enu%3D3369%3E2%3C4%3E464%3EWSNRCG%3D323884745%3A3%3A4nu0mrj)

The first day we got to jamaica and drove for hours to the compound.  They drive on the left and their roads have no markings or signs and no real speed limit. They have only just started constructing roads for all of Jamaica.  Building the house took 5 days, at our house we had Fred, the homeowner's brother, he dug a huge pit for the sewage tank which he filled with huge rocks to help disperse the poo. Fred shared some coconuts he got from what is basically their back yard. The stuff you buy in the store is nothing compared to a fresh coconut.  The last day was mostly when we painted, we had some scrap wood and some extra paint, so I painted "God Bless This House" and we nailed it up.(http://images2.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp533%3A3%3Enu%3D3369%3E2%3C4%3E464%3EWSNRCG%3D32386%3A%3C48%3B%3A47nu0mrj)

During those 5 days every night we had a different activity. There was a free night, a night in the nearby village market, and a night spent with the children at a quaker run school and a night at what is basically a nursing home without any of the medical facilities. Free night we just slept and played hearts. In the market we experienced Jamaican Fast food and bought machetes. At the childrens home we played cards and checkers and chess and uno a group of boys taught me how to play "castle" their little card game, we're about the only visitors they get. The nursing home was tough to get through. Most of them were not sane a lot of them couldn't walk and some of them couldn't speak. There wasn't much I could do for any of them, our group leader just read from the bible with them and we prayed together.

We dedicated the whole 5 houses to the five different families, most of them cried. We read our verses and prayed for them and we sang. During the week we also visited Frenchman's cove, a tiny beach far away from most of the hotels, its a beautiful place. I've never seen water as clear as on that beach.

We went to church with Jamaicans. They are some of the most dedicated christians around. Some of those women walk for miles in their only nice clothes to go to church. The church is mostly women because men will often leave a woman to raise their child alone, few actually stay around. We sang and our group leader gave a short message.

Our last day we went to a hotel near montego bay, if we had to drive all the way there before our flight came we would never have left Jamaica.  It is truly a beautiful place.  The view was spectacular and I have never missed air conditioning that much in my entire life.

I know I'm missing a whole lot of what we did, I don't know how we crammed so much activity in one week.

Isn't it illegal for a minor to make a pornographic web page? If not, it sure seems like it should be. =P

Is this just a framework for others to use? If not, I imagine you have to ask for permission from a lot of the big sites to use their images, since I don't think any original porn that you make would catch on.  Just saying.

@a4yo:  that's so cool. Too bad about the uncommitted fathers. I always wanted to do one of those Latin-American volunteer things. Perhaps after I get to college I'll have some free summers.

a4yo, that's quite awesome. I've always wanted to do something like that, but without the religious component (that's just me; I don't have much faith).

I'm going to have a busy, busy month. I have several midterms coming up soon, I need to put new struts in my car (and get an oil change while I'm at it), which cost a hefty amount of money that I may barely be able to put together. My dad gave me a laptop that he wants fixed, which I'm going to make a help thread about, and so on.

I spend weekends with my girlfriend, either at my place or hers, which is about half an hour away. Other than that, my life isn't exactly exciting. I play games whenever I have spare time.

You never shut off, do you? Porn sites are legal in the US.

I don't care if it's legal or not, I'm not intending it to get popular at all, I just needed images to use to test out the script I made. As for the image sources, they're from random places around the net; including 4chan, usenet, torrents, google images, etc etc.

And yes, what I attached is a framework for anyone to use for anything, be it a cartoon blog site or a commercial porn site. It's up to them.

I also do ESL work with the church.  English as a second language is pretty easy, we just have a book and we help them pronounce and help them with vocab.

Its pretty much just the church that does this kind of work, there's always habitat for humanity though. Its Christian founded but majorly secular.

Shouldn't the morals of the citizens influence the law?

Talking to me? Because my beliefs are right, yours are wrong. :P

But this shouldn't really be a debate topic. I had a pretty fine day in which I (possibly?) aced two history tests. Actually one was more like a B. Since for once I'm actually caught up on homework, this week I've decided to actually stay on track and do the work. Since I now have a little planner book, I won't be trusting my memory anymore. We'll see how that really goes.

Shouldn't the morals of the citizens influence the law?
Only if the citizens aren't wackjobs. I mean, if the population supported slavery the government would ideally have to go against popular opinion.

Right, there shouldn't be a debate - religious beliefs should rule the world.

Exactly, so they vote for the guy who gets in office who votes for these sorts of things.

Why is this such a problem?

I don't have a problem
Title: Re: lets have a bit of a chat

It's not a problem, until a minority realizes it doesn't get what it wants.

Edit: Though whining might not be much of an answer to that problem, so still not a problem then.

Ahh, yes.  I remember history tests/classes.  It's good you got caught up - always a fine point to start keeping a leg up on things.

I've had numerous planer books, but for some reason they always seem to get left behind.  Hope it goes well for ya.  Usually plans just end up written on the back of my hand, heh.

I just sent 6 of my paintings off to a gallery. I'll be having an exhibition this Friday, which also meets up with the opening of the major local art museum which will showcase the winners of a local art competition, so I'll have my stuff showing at two [actually maybe 3 based on if the museum splits between its new and old sites] locations downtown for the entirety of this month.

What happened was that the owner of this particular gallery was also the judge for the competition, and so he came back to ask if I wanted to show more works in his gallery. I pretty much submitted everything worth submitting to the competition so there was a little bit of scrambling as I cranked out the new paintings and crafted my own frames for them.

I feel so relieved now.

Cool stuff Espadon. Will this be the first time your stuff gets in an exhibit? You could always go ninja mode and smuggle one of your paintings into a fancy museum over night. Instant-recognition.
SDFilm: my wallpaper has been 'Write.' for a month or so now. Too bad there's always a browser window open, so self-propulsion kind of dies off there.

On a related note, I write. Or rather, type. Wouldn't call it writing yet, it's not good enough. Ideas are swarming as of late, only need to find the motivation to sit down and wrap them up. My main problem is interest dying off paired up with procrastination - in effect, I can't do shit, unless some excessive criteria is met (DEADLINE IN TWO HOURS GO GO). It's in hungarian though, so I can't show this stuff to you even if you're interested - there's some English stuff in the works though. Hungarians don't read, need to think on a broader market.

As of late, next to my musical webzine journalist duties, with all my free time, I applied for a literaly self-improvement circle thing, which supposedly helps talented people, there's a gallery for those who paint, monthly meetings and annual anthologies with stuff from the assembly's writers. We'll see how it goes, this is the first time I'm showing my things to people I don't know for years / would trust with my life. Go go gadget-typewriter!

Wow. Good work mate!

a4yo, that's really good, I respect that.

My life is stopping and starting. I am currently learning to Actioscript and flash animate, I've alrady got some awesome ideas and vector drawings for my first animation, I can post some pics if you'd like, it's similar to Castle Crashers, but different enough to be called something different and to have a different feel. I created my current avatar and Banner based on my cartoon as well.

I also just got into 3D mapmaking for Halo CE. I'm very bad, but hey, adding a billion flood to each level and shooting them is my kinda game.

I am not having fun at school. Wow it sucks. Physics, Maths 3A/B (Hardest) and English are killing me Especially English, I hate our teacher. I got %50 exactly in my maths test. Very lame. But I'll do well in the next one, Venn Diagram, Simultaneous equations and that kinda stuff, At leat I hope so.

Slightly blurry but you get the idea. The top picture I uses a standard frame; I was responsible for the carpentry of the others. Bottom left is a view from above of an alleyway in China.

Thats not bad. Considering that you didn't really set out to make any money(or did you)

EDIT:

wait you said possibility, does it mean that you didn't accept it or that is just the rough estimate that he gave you, which realistically is never that much?

It's not bad considering the amount of effort required to turn out those pieces tbh.

Price is just the total value; the art market over here is rather decent, but I'd be happy to turn out any amount really.
