I hate to say it, but that is an effective chainsaw strategy.

Sometimes that's difficult to avoid, such as when you're the only person on your team trying to return the flag and having to take on multiple enemies all the time, or when you find yourself having to play more defense to protect the FFC and rack up multiple deaths playing meatshield.
- You never use your secondary, let alone know which button actually swaps it out.
- You spend the entire game just trying to get everyone to vote to change the level to the one map you're "good" at.
- You flag camp with the minigun.
- You think kickvoting is the best way to neutralize an enemy threat.

- When you go on a new mission when one is already in progress. That is to say, you and your teammates run towards the enemy base instead of escourting the nearby friendly flag carrier and securing your own flag.

Ha ha, he meant when you do it accidentally. I recently played on inf_Fortress, and for half the game I thought it was inf_Industrial (inf_factory? inf_warehouse?). Naturally, I grabbed the flag, ran over to the side, didn't know where my flag was, and got owned. It was pretty bad.
Anyway, here are a few of my own:
You hack and still die.
You camp and still die.
You throw the flag to an enemy (I did this once).
You call someone a hacker because he was vested.
You call someone a hacker because you're lagging and can't hit him.
You call someone a hacker because he's lagging and you can't hit him.
You call someone a hacker because he keeps hitting you ("Aim hacks!!!" :P)

^aye, a don't mind if there is one M79, but its damn annoying when all/half the team use it.
If they all use it on a small map that is easyer for the m79, then its annoying. If its in a wide open map where other weapons have the upper hand, then its just lame..

I do most of those things that you mentioned - I aint rubbish I'm a total pro except when I drop my weapon half the time (Really, But I blame it on the keys), and except when it takes me 5 minutes to figure out whats happening in the server, and except when Some people HAX and kill me (It's the ONLY way to kill me... I'm too much of a pro only hacking destroys me), and except when I accidentally throw my saw at someone (I play knives server too much and then I really like saws but I keep throwing them...), and except- Oh forget it... I'm going to be typing here all day.
So yeah I'm a pro! :D

Actually, I've found this one guy who does camp with a chansaw, and it's suprisingly effective. He laid in some grass that the flag was in and mowed down anyone who tried to get it. He only tricked me once, and I rewarded him with a M-79 shell to the face.

Hey, crouching at the exact right moment can save your life and end your opponent's. Of course, it depends on your opponent's reflexes & where he's aiming his saw.

Crouching can't save your life if your enemy is aiming properly. Proning works though.

Most complicated anims (rolling, laying down, getting up, etc.) for some reason negates damage that is done to you. Not sure why, probably just a simple glitch.

Perhaps it's an intentionally added method of dodging. If anyone here has ever played Little Fighter 2, you'll see that the dodging animation is a roll. I roll whenever I'm running at a chainsawer, so they can't hit me.

..though I suppose they are pretty universal. Also, there's nothing wrong with being a bullet shield. I do it all the time in CTF, and have protected the FFC from a barret or m79 quite a number of times, not to mention automatic fire.

It pushes you back, making it difficult to get through, the enemies easily catch up, and kill you. Just as they kill you, the Major runs out of ammo and gets knifed. They take back the flag and get 2 easy kills.

Also, M79 is a weapon that requires just as much skill as any other weapon, and i'm tired of people whining about it. Don't like M79? Play on a server that has it disabled, make your own server, or get the hell off Soldat.

It's probably because of the shallow bullet arc. I dunno, I've never done it, and I only use the USSOCOM about 20% of the time as a secondary. :-\

This can be a great tactical maneuver. Cap the flag, run under the bridge, toss the flag to a friend, and fall on the spikes. Now you respawn at the base, and you can intercept incoming enemies to protect the flag. Obviously this only works with a friend who knows what's going on, but it's great when you pull it off.
Also, M79 is a weapon that requires just as much skill as any other weapon, and i'm tired of people whining about it.
The M79 does not require skill to use effectively. That's why it's the weapon of choice of many new players. You're better with it if you have more skill (obviously), but that doesn't mean that it requires skill. I don't mind it because I think it has enough shortcomings to balance the instakill. However, that's much different from it requiring skill to use.

or you could just be in the base and protect it, its the same thing without the dieing part.

About the socom, U13 has no way to say you suicided by flying into walls or spikes, so it throws it under the one gun it's pretty imposisble with to kill yourself, unless you shoot straight up and down. Sooo in U13 where it tracks stats, I believe the walls and spikes go under Socom, I could be wrong, but that would be my best guess at why we have Socom suicides.

It throws off pursuers, for one. If everyone is in the lower tunnels chasing you, they're going to have a hard time getting to the new FFC. Also, there's more dodging areas and more hiding areas on top, as well as multiple ways to enter the base.
So you ask, "Why don't you start out on the top then?"
Ideally, you don't want to break stride when you capture the flag, especially when it's in an enemy spawning area. So you have two approaches: Come from the bottom and go out the top, or come from the top and go out the bottom. It's pretty tricky to manuever through the vertical tunnel as you jet up. Since you're fighting gravity, you're goin slowly, and people can shoot you and throw grenades. When you go from top to bottom, you take advantage of gravity, and can generally outrun grenades. You also get cover from the shots faster.
So your next question probably is, "Sounds good, but why do you risk losing the flag as you throw it? Can't you just jet from the bottom to the top?"
1. You don't have enough jet power to get to the top, unless you really know what you're doing.Â
2. When you throw the flag, it gets to where you want faster then when you move there.
3. Throwing the flag can really throw off pursuers. I had the flag once and was chased by two people. I was in the middle of ctf_Nuubia, so I went to the top and threw the flag down to a teammate as I was going there. Neither of the pursuers noticed, and they continued to chase me. Finally I died, but the flag was safe. Then of course, there was the usual round of "WTFOMGHAX!"
Like I said, it's a risky move, but if done correctly, it can really help you out.

I know a number of FPS players will say that the quality of the keyboard, mouse, and mousepad do make a difference. Lots of people swear by old IBM keyboards. I definitely have a mouse preference, and I myself play on typing paper since I play better on a wide flat surface than a more limited mousepad. You can get better results playing with a better setup, using a better control scheme, etc.
Of course, changing it once a week would just be silly. :P

Since I have an optical mouse, I never use a mousepad. That screws up my aim, especially the ones with the ergonomic wrist pad.
Also, I tend to do better with desktop keyboards instead of laptop ones. And laptop screens always feel weird. So if you see me sometime and I suck, it's because I'm playing on my laptop in college.

Hmm? Spas is great against Barretts. The bink and knockback are really disorienting to the target, and you can then Spas boost away if needed.
