Title: BattlEye Errors
Post by: Tzu on November 03, 2009, 07:27:45 am
I keep getting these errors that either kick me from a room for Corrupted Memory#16 (maybe some other Corrupted Memory numbers too) or I get error messages popping up on my screen that say Read of Access (or something like that) Error in BEClient.dll
while I'm playing soldat. I looked at the other topics about Corrupted Memory and they said to reinstall soldat or download BattlEye from the site.  I did both and I still get the errors.  They also said that Corrupted Memory #16 came up if you hacked, but I have never hacked anything in my life.  If I tried to, I would probably accidently delete half the stuff on my computer.

So yeah can anyone help?

Btw it only started after this last BattlEye update.  I have never got these errors before.

The exact same thing happened to me two days ago after joining a public server. I then reinstalled Soldat and it seems to have gone.

This is one of the errors I got before reinstalling. I'm not entirely certain reinstalling has removed the bug though i'm just hoping it has.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, but you're missing that map's texture so it's defaulting to a different one.

I got the same thing today. After getting kicked from 1 server I received this from all other servers ( I wasn't able to join them, only got this message)

Connection accepted to <Server's IP>

Now this one happened about 5 minutes ago. First I got an access violation about BEClient.dll  at some address (can't remember which one and I forgot to capture a screenshot)

and this followed:

I doubt you're serious but I feel I should clarify: soldat cant/wont use punkbuster since it isn't free, MM can't afford it, and possibly doesn't work with delphi or small unpopular games. And it's f**king awesome that $able is actually willing to put time into fixing things and listening to the community, which I doubt the people/company/entity who maintain punkbuster would.

As much as I can remember then Sable once posted a topic about BattlEye fees.
I'm pretty sure he knows that it won't work out if we get that kind of brainfuck each day.

From v1.089

BE spams non-stop (without kicking anybody). Spam is so fast, chat is unreadable.
Title: Re: BattlEye Errors
Post by: Sir Jeremy on November 07, 2009, 09:45:24 pm
I'm also getting these the whole time, but it doesn't kick me from the game.  It just keeps spamming the chat and ping rises from around 66 to 250.

http://img88.imageshack.us/i/codes2.jpg/ (1150 ping spike as well as 200+ FPS)

http://img14.imageshack.us/i/codesr.png/ (116 ping and only 25 FPS)

I hope this helps. :)

seems like it only happens in slot 8? Today we were playing 4v4 and guy in slot 8 was getting cm kick #15 and #16 we added bot Sniper, then he rejoined (so he was in slot 9) and there was no problems. I dont know if that helps xD

Yeah, $able made the CMs occur only for people in slot 8, probably to reduce the number of people who got kicked for it, and so he could also keep debugging the problem.

I'm fucking fed up. BattlEye is piece of crap. Why do we even bother our asses with that rubbish.

It all started with version 1.099.
Several people had this problem. Later we were kicked for BattlEye Violation #16

This AV  list could go on.

How do I get these purple numbers and things to help you?

Had corrupt memory #14

edit: I was able to fix it by joining as spectator and staying there for some seconds and then going to alpha/bravo. But BE just updated and already fixed it again.

ive started getting game freezes since the last update, had no problems at all before. I guess the freezes are caused by some violations because i need to keep pressing ESC in order to un-freeze the game. It's completely unplayable this way.

I appreciate all the effort, but you should test the updates on some beta group before releasing them, otherwise it can completely screw up the game. And btw, isn't it possible to get back to the version before all this mess?

Alright, let me first say that I already have went into Properties>Compatibility>Run as admin. That's NOT the problem, nor is Win 98 compatibility the fix. I have Windows Vista Home Premium x64 bit.

Basically, once I start Soldat and start to play in a game, after about 5 minutes (or less) Soldat closes and says "Soldat has stopped responding".

The problem first occurred when I was to messingaround with Soldats Config/Setup. I believe I turned on Video Compatibility and also changed the texture filters and resolution filters to point, which is in the "More" tab in Soldat Setup. After Soldat stopped responding for the first time, I realized turning on the point filters wasn't a good idea, so I changed them back to Linear(default)... Sad to say, the problem still occured. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Soldat. Still doesn't work. I'm a huge Soldat fan, and I need Soldat to live!   :-X

Unfortunately, such a thing does not exist.  You should know better, especially when reporting things that actually matter in regards to the game.  How can anyone take you seriously when you post like this?

Ok, could you guys please do the following: Join a server and wait for BE to update to v1.107. Then enter "/beclient test" (press / so it says "Cmd:") - you should see a "Test enabled" confirmation message in the console.

When Soldat crashes you should now see a little window saying "Exception: ...". Please make a screenshot of that and post it here.

When testing is enabled, i dont get the client not respodning error msg, just this access violation, im guessing this is what you want, windows 7 btw:

Please, could you all test v1.109 with "/beclient test" enabled (make sure to enable it AFTER BE updated to 1.109!)? This will probably bring back the fps problem, but as people started to report these problems after I fixed it, I need to know if this is the reason.

Update your BE to the latest version. There was a problem with 1.5.1 that was fixed in v1.113. Your BE Client should have been updated by the 1.5.1 installer though, so obviously something went wrong.

Anyway, could I get reports on the current BE in 1.5.0 please? BE doesn't really do anything in 1.5.1 at the moment.

As I already told Fujifabric via PM:

If you have time you could try turning off almost all programs in autostart (in msconfig tool) and task manager and also uninstalling (not only disabling) your security software for a test.

See if the problem is gone and then turn them on one by one to figure out what is causing it.

This probably is too much effort, but maybe the only way to solve anything right now. :/ I still have no idea what is causing it, nor am I able to reproduce it on Windows 7 x64.

The same applies to your new problem.

ive been having a problem recently as well, randomly a dialog box will pop up saying soldat has to close, then when i restart it i cant get back into the server saying BE client isnt responding.....not sure if this has been addressed yet, but i wanted to let you know.

ive got windows vista if that matters

Could you also post a list of processes?

well i don't know man, but i don't think it's a software related thing...  :-\

my pc has only like 3 weeks, and i just have installed:  soldat, a couple of other games, the antivirus, msn and other programs that doesn't run at startup. The only thing i've done was updating the video drivers and tweaking some stuff from the nvidia panel.

Well, only trying out things will give any answer at all, guessing won't really help... It seems only some people get this problem and I haven't encountered it on 2 fresh Windows 7 x64 systems.

I am 99% sure it is a software-related thing.
Title: Re: BattlEye Errors
Post by: Fujifabric on November 20, 2009, 09:53:50 am
well i'll try everything, unistall the antivirus and do the other things you said just to see if the problem goes. It'd be hard to see what causes it becauses it happens randomly.

Anyway i don't think it's just some people, i mean, if 8 people says that have that problem on the forums then there are probably more out there that doesn't post it here... and i think it's important because it seems to happen in x64 systems which people would probably use much more in the future. Most of the times a person wouldn't think it's a BE thing and ignore it too.

EDIT: just found this...

You're right, but for example it doesn't happen to me and at least two other people I have asked who are on x64 as well.

Besides, from what I have gathered so far from your error logs, this crash is caused in a system dll BE doesn't even use, so that makes it even harder to figure out.

Look at the time stamps, 3 crashes one after the other, i uninstalled AV which stopped my WinAPI hook problem but this makes soldat 100% unplayable and oh i just love listening to the people in gather bitch and moan about me crashing like its all my fault ::)

Sting, you have the wrong entry selected in this screenshot.

Anyway, I guess the errors are the same again (c0000409 in user32.dll), so you don't need to post them in the future.

Could you guys do the following after your BE updated to v1.115:

Enter "/beclient test" again so it says "Test enabled". Then wait for Soldat to crash. Check if there is a BE.log file in your Soldat folder (where Soldat.exe resides) and post a link to it here.

My winapi hook seems to be resolved, AV is on and no kicks.  Although i cant seem to get the game to crash now, ive been sitting here for 20minutes waiting for it to crash and it wont :-X

Edit: nvm, still getting hooks ill just disable AV while i play i guess

After 3 crashes (i think..) it has this content:
Code: [Select]

C0000005 00497271 0 00000000 2 00000001 0000000C
The second crash also created an address violation popup (the two lines in the middle are from this one crash afaik).

I did an fresh install of windows 7 x64 Prof DE today.
Installed apps (really all!): soldat, 7zip, trillian, dropbox, hdtune, opera, speedfan, adobe reader, flash for opera, flash for IE (installed with trillian), winamp, riva tuner.
All JYPD members using win7 x64 have this issue (3).
The only relevant apps (imo) are: winamp, 7zip and the adobe things (flash, reader).
But most likely it does not even have something to do with installed apps. (I'm wondering why you could not reproduce this bug)  :(

If i can find some time in the next days, I'll try to contact you on IRC.
You could then install any software you need to debug on my pc via vnc/teamviewer.

Thank you for all the good work!  :)

Yes, I am wondering that too. :(

However it really looks like it is not related to any installed software at all. Sting confirmed this via PM because he also tested it on a completely fresh Windows 7.

Anyway, thanks for your info. Would be great to get the same from others.

This bug is strange...
Sometimes i can play 30 minutes or more, then sometimes it crashes every 1-3 minutes.

I installed the newest ati/amd graphics driver and turned v-sync on and did not crash for a _very_ long time.
I turned v-sync off and it crashed nearly immediately after that.

But now i enabled it again and it crashes more than ever...  ;D So maybe this was just a coincidence

What graphics card do you all have? Could this bug be caused by the graphics card driver/vendor ???

I attached a zip file with 7 crash logs (i started a new one after each crash).

I have no problems with battleye and 1.5.1, Im just curious: what was the big problem the last weeks? and what is improved now? is it faster now? more secure (recognizing more hax)? more stable (less crashes)? more accurate (kicking less non-haxors)? or "just" bugfixes because of the changes in 1.5.1?

and again: thx for the great support here, $able! :)

1.5.1 hasn't caused any problems because BE isn't really active there yet. The big problem was some weird Windows Vista/7 x64 internal issue that came up due to BE's new detection method leading to game crashes. BE's method is flawless here though, so I had to work around this problem. It took so long especially because I was never able to reproduce the crashes myself on two W7 x64 systems - I don't know why, maybe my hardware is too old and my CPU not fast enough, or even the opposite (unlikely).

As I said, the reason for all this crap is an effective new detection method. That's why I didn't just go ahead and simply drop it. That's not my style anyway - if there is a problem, I want to find the cause for it and solve it.

Believe me, I was as annoyed as you by this problem, especially because I checked my code like 1000 times and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it - well, nothing.

Anyway, the crashes should be gone now. I will release a proper update shortly (so you can play without test enabled).
Title: Re: BattlEye Errors

So does the new detection method now run everywhere or do you disable it if you detect an incompatible pc?

Riva Tuner measures that Soldat runs at around 360-390 fps (before battle eye kicks me because of riva tuner Direct3D Hook #15, lol)

Thanks again, looking forward to the next version  ;)

i was able to test it for about 10-15 minutes when the update was released. with the beclient test enabled, i had no crashes.

I haven't played with the test disabled

will get to more testing later today

Is BE the cause of huge FPS drops?

Because I've updated the last version of BE. And after the update was done my fps went down from 160 to 80/100.

My mate keeps getting the "soldat.pl not responding" thing even though he has given soldat admin rights.
Somtimes he gets this error message:

I told him to try a /beclient test not sure if he has. Is this an error of BE? Two players in the french community can't seem to play soldat because of this bug and yes they have put it as administrator!

CheeSeMan., this is what we are talking about here. Yes, he should enter "/beclient test" as a command and after the crash post the content of his BE.log file (in Soldat folder) here.

Kagesha, your log was truncated, it doesn't contain the newest entries. Delete your BE.log file.

Your problem is very weird. Do you always get access violations ingame for each entry in the log?
Also, what is your operating system? And do you use any security software? If so, could you disable that?

nah, it's not thaaat bad, maybe 2-3 times per cw, and some horrible fps drops about same amount of time, and ping being crazy with loads of warps and eat (I guess I warp and eat a lot too). I tho get kicked for Battle eye gamehack #88 (I think it still is #88). (immidate kick, with some info about bad packet size.)

why don't you download win7 x64 yourself and do some testing yourself? and fix the fucking ping problem, I have perfect ping in other games, so it's not my connection, but soldat I rarely got less than 200 ping, spiking between 33-600.

If you'd read my numerous posts you would know that I am on Win7 x64 and tested Soldat a lot - but unfortunately never was able to reproduce a single crash. The crashing problem only occurs for a very few people now, so it is even harder to solve it.

And no, your ping problem and team change bug is not related to BE.

$able, I'm having a boring error in BE.
Every time I get this message from the server ( http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/1662/screenshot09120301.jpg ) my fps drops to 4 ~ 2. getting unplayable.
If the server is with BE off i can play without this fps issue.
is there any solution? sorry if you already have posted it, I only read a few pages

I am using windows 7 x86

ki0sk, thanks for your logs, you don't need to post more for now. :)

doObr, someone reported the same problem to me via e-mail and I gave the advice to disable or, if that doesn't help, uninstall any security software on the system. He disabled his firewall and the problem vanished.
So, the question is, what kind of security software do you use and could you follow my advice as well?

why don't you download win7 x64 yourself and do some testing yourself? and fix the f**king ping problem, I have perfect ping in other games, so it's not my connection, but soldat I rarely got less than 200 ping, spiking between 33-600.

Some people on here jesus, they think your just a slave to serve them, anyway sable i haven't been crashing for a week now, i really appreciate the work you have done to rectify this problem ;)
well, yes ofc, if he "want" to do this for soldat, I'm quite sure he doesn't do it for free. so he should be our "slave".

also, I hope that you're using it on a laptop, because I think that is the failing part, with those nano CPU shit.

Major why can't you just stfu and wait till it's done? You prick. I don't see you doing anything. Please don't waste your time, and go play commander keen or something. Kid.
If you really care about soldat so much and want it fixed, then go try something yourself, or wait. That's all there is isn't it? What did your parents learn? Whine whenever you're not satisfied? I don't think so.

IMO Sable is doing everything he can to fix it. So be cool, and thank him instead of being a ********. (fill in yourself whatever you're behaving like right now).

if you really feel the need to have this done as quickly as possible, how about cooperating and contribute to help $able fix this problem. As far as i can see I'm the only one willing to help here and keep my sanity. I'm not always able to help so rather than just relying on me, another pair of hands will be useful

Your constant badgering, b***hing and moaning isn't really wanted here if you're not going to help.

Yeah indeed, but the point is, my soldat actually doesn't crash. The only problem I have is fps drops when shooting, moving in soldat.

just to show this major a lesson, don't act like a major, just be your normal self, EVEN on the internet :). (on the forums atleast). Whatever you do outside is no care.

I have helped in the past, but now I found a way to boot my xp partition (fucking ntldr shit), so~, I don't care anymore ;o

Hi!

$able, I did what you said.
I disabled my antivirus (Kaspersky for windows 7)
and also deactivated the UAC and did not work. The game is still with very low fps after that server message appears (the picture of my other post).

is there any other solution I can do?

Hey,

I have been experiencing the same FPS problem for over a month, but I have finally found a solution for myself. The problem was my firewall - I'm using Win XP sp2. I simply turned it off, even disabled it in the autostart, but it didn't help. I had to disable the 'run automatically' setting in: control panel -> services and restart the computer.

Yea, it always begins when up-to-date shows.

Just a quick note: I haven't forgotten about the crashing problem and I will again try to fix it soon. I have just been busy with other stuff recently, so stay tuned.

Is "/beclient test" still working? Or was it disabled?

EDIT: Weird. I didn't had any BE problems but I did /beclient test...that's what I got so far:

I repeat one more time - I do NOT have any BE problems.

And here goes the funny thing.
My friend is being constantly kicked by BE (client not responding) in one particular server all servers and he's BE.log looks like this:
Code: [Select]

Isn't it weird?

Yes, it's still working and actually logs are wanted for version 1.132 - ki0sk, are you still around? ;)

The logs from your friend are not weird. But something is preventing BE from functioning properly. Does he use any security software? Also, what operating system is he using?

It might be just me, but doing /beclient test makes my soldat either crash or shutdown. (I have no problems with BE though, was just testing around)

edit: Lol, gives me a kinda nice soldat server bug.

these newer versions comes with freezes on XP, that's great.... what about just giving up? remove BE from soldat so we can play for once.

Nice idea ;)
To be able to play I have to replace BE with old client, so I can play at least 2 minutes. Not much, but it's better than uninstalling security software.

I keep on getting game freezes on XP, every minute or so it will freeze for about 10 seconds then go back to normal and then again freeze, i reinstalled soldat 20 times, BE Clients 40 times, it makes the game unplayable, first i had AV's then BE kicks, now it freezes, wtf do i have to do to get rid of that shit once and for all?

I'm having the same 's**t' too:
with my firewall I have a constant game freeze (1 fps or even less) Without firewall, it's ok, but later (after hibernation for example) another annoying freeze comes, it's not SO strong, but the game is still unplayable. So I suppose the problem is not only my fw.

I tried turning off the firewall and the game still freezes, plus i get 10-15 fps at times wich sucks badly, practically half of the time i play i get freezing or low fps and this is clearly due to BE since many ppl is complaining here for the same reasons...

I suggest Sable downloads zonealarm and try it out, cuz it works fine if you kill it (disable doesn't cut it).
