Greetings
Since yesterday my fps dropped from 100 to 63/64 (as reported by fraps and the F3 ingame menu)
I'm using a crt screen set up to display soldat in 640x480 @100Hz
The monitor menu indicate fh:50.90KHZ FV: 100.08HZ (This seems correct at least)
Gpu is ati.
Here is a screenshot of the Catalyst control center:

For some reason I can't explain, the "3D refresh rate override" doesn't make my fps go to 100 in soldat like it used to.
Here is a screenhot of the soldat config window
(http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/1715/soldatsetupscreen.png) (http://img46.imageshack.us/i/soldatsetupscreen.png/)
What I tried so far: reinstalling soldat, re-applying the ccc setup, replacing soldat.ini with a backup, rebooting the computer.
Any help would be much appreciated.
If you need any additional info, I'll gladly provide it.
Ty in advance to anyone reading this topic.

Additional info:
OS: windows XP Sp3
Soldat version: 1.5.0
Edit:
Ok I'm back to 100fps.
But I have no clue how I fixed it.
It kinda magically fixed itself!
That's really weird. ???

Like it was any difference between 100 fps and 60 fps...Anyway good to hear it fixed itself. Miracle!

Try set your Windows desktop @640x480/100mhz and Soldat @windowed mode(will force vsync off), antialiasing off. If you wanna more FPS, 16bits even less particles and stuff.

Yeah I tried that, but for some odd reason it didn't work. ???
Seems my computer was Vsyncing at the wrong rate ( 65fps in place of 100fps )
Anyway I like it more when it's running fullscreen with vsync on.
If your computer is too slow for the game, disabling Vsinc can be a good idea to improve the frame rate.( If "image tearing" bothers you less than the low frame-rate )
But if your computer can generate more fps than your monitor refresh rate then
IMO there is no benefit in bypassing the vsync.
"I don't have any clue why someone would disable VSync for gameplay. The only legit reason for this is to benchmark 3D card performance without the monitor's refresh rate skewing the results. Regarding a 'philosophical VSync difference between Direct3D and OpenGL', that's nutty. There is no visual benefit to having a game render more frames per second than your monitor is displaying."
Tim Sweeney, from Epic Games
"Although I would agree that there are no actual 'visual' benefits to disabling vsync (in fact tearing can make things look pretty god-awful), the ability to squeeze a couple more frames per second is a tweak I used quite often when playing graphically intensive games on lower performance systems. Was there tearing...damned right! Did it speed up the games? Sure did, but when you're getting 15-20fps in your favorite game, anything is an improvement, and the odd graphic glitch is a worthwhile tradeoff!"

If you set urself windows resolution(Confg>Video Options) to 640x480 @100mhz, even if Soldat is windowed, it seems fullscreen. Tried it? Theres a benefice in getting higher FPS values, its the input device low lag, which means your mouse/keyboard respond better, faster, stronger, harder, if your comp dont need to process every frame in the screen, which means if will flicker, make the game uglier but better for hardcore perfomance gamers (me).

Thx for the explanation Biohazard. I wasn't aware of this.
I will have to try both ways and see what suits me best.

What? And how the hell did you notice this? It's not possible to see difference between 60 and 100 fps using your eyes.
So you're crying just because the number went lower? And? You care???????????

Their e-penusch is proportionally rising with their fps.

Next time make sure you have something interesting to say before posting.

my fps is always jumping from 15 to 60, does it mean that my e-penusch is vibrating? :D

I'm not sorry, but here's nothing to say. This forum is called "Need Help? Report Bugs!"
You haven't found any bug, and you don't need any help, because there's no problem. ;)
