OK I started this kind of poll.But i play realistic only ;)

If it wasn't for that damn buggy fall damage and overpowered ruger i would say realistic.

I agree. Realistic (assuming you mean R/S) just promotes camping, and the huge recoil is just ridiculous and stupid in my opinion. Even a new person firing a gun for the first time wouldn't have the recoil in Soldat's realistic mode. I like the added damage for jumps and fast movement, but the gameplay changes just ruin that.

Realistic nowadays. Why? The community is much nicer, there are lass arseholes and matches aren't determined by who can spray the most.

Normal. Since there is always non-stop action going on, and 'sprayers' are what you call AUTO USERS, and these auto users, use their guns to SHOOT PEOPLE.

Realistic. Our clanserver is realmode. You get used to it, I can't play arcade anymore... And campers are easy to get if you know how.. ^^

Normal because it's more action-packed a fast-paced and everything soldat was meant to be

Some guns are just too overpowered in realistic.
And the damage when you get when you hit a vertical wall sucks.

Normal mode all the way!
Normal is more balenced, plus the fall damage can get annoying.

I've always been a normal mode junkie; it's by far my favorite. But I do enjoy an occasional R/S game here and there. :)

Why would you leave realistic mode? You guys have a pretty dedicated community, and it seems to be growing. There also appears to be more options opening up for the realistic crowd, such as the #soldat.realistic IRC channel and the Soldat Realistic League. Don't let this poll influence how you want to play.

Realistic mode is fun, it teaches you how to aim and burst. The invisible people is okay, because then you need to use teamwork more to find out where all the enemies are. However, you can get teamkilled by being naded into a wall too easily and when you move too fast in tunnels like the one in inf_Warehouse.
Survival mode is kinda annoying. It's Mical Marcinkowski's least favorite feature from Counter-Strike. I don't wanna play for 30 seconds, get killed by an M79, then wait for 3 minutes just to get killed by an M79 again.
Normal mode is like Classic Coke: You don't need to change it, but you might find something you like if you do.

err I denno looks like sneaky started playing in the srl ;) Right now I enjoy realistic more just because its different than what I was use to.

i chose normal, but that doesn't mean i dont like both.....i chose normal, because i prolly play it more than realistic. but if there was a selecction for "i like both" that's what i would have chosen

but between realistic and normal I would choose realistic mainly because it involves more tactics than just spraying

You need skills to play realistic.You dont see.enemies and you have make Bursts.The fall damage Is good if you can play.Of course It haves more bugs than normal but I still love this mode.

People complaining about "runners" is one thing I hate about R/S.

So far I'm the only person to vote for the both choice...
When I first started Sodlat I played realistic only, but now I'm on to normal and have been for a good 2 years.
But I still love realistic, nothing like sneaking up and knifing somone in the back.

Realistic isn't my type of thing. Unrealistic recoils ruined it for me.

Same here, I love realistic mode, but the lack of Australian servers almost forces me to play normal...
I love the strategy of realistic (and especially realistic/survival), and you really have to rely on your team. Also, it's more "on the edge of your seat" kind of play.
Plus, I am better at R/S :D

RS is def. a teamwork game...that is one of the main reason it's popular.Personally i favor normal, but when i got good team chemistry goin, i love me some R/S

Why does everyone complain about spraying?? Its like if a person gets a hk or a steyr they are automatically called a sprayer everysingle time they kill someone. If you dont want to get killed by a 'sprayer' get out of the spray.

Realistic mode is better except recoilshouldn't be that high and that thing when you bump in a wall should damage but not kill you (if you have 100% health)

normal mode by far.
if i wanted a realistic-as-possible game, i'd turn on my steam acc and play cs\css\whatever instead.
and besides, its not even that realistic, just a mode where a few weapons are alot stronger than the others.

I switch between playing both modes, though I play more R/S.

Realistic mode all the way! I couldnt care less about the recoil, I play realistic so often now that while I'm firing I just naturally move my cursor down to compensate for the recoil and most of my shots go... mostly... in the direction that I want them to go. I'm used to fall damage and you can just avoid it by boosting half a second before you hit the ground. Characters being invisable is pretty cool too because you actually have to look around and use your speakers to help locate the enemy instead of just holding in one place and looking around your character.
And campers are dealth with fairly easily... you can mostly just rush them and kill them in a blink o.O
I almost always play realistic mode now because it's just more fun in my opinion... whenever I go into an arcade game I just get slaughtered because of my tendancies from RL such as moving my cursor down to compensate for recoil and thinking that the nemy cant see me when they have their character's back turned to me XP

anyway back to topic... i don't like realistic, is a bit annoying. when soldats fade out when they go behind something it just looks wierd in a platform game.

yea, but its 'realistic'. in real life you would see that person dissapear too...
But now knowing where your enemy is, is great.
Too use the words of Sev(Star Wars Republic Commando game)

Like Sowaka said, you use the sound more, where you hear the enemy, and compensate for the recoil.

Normal, I can't stand the fall damage. The recoil in Realistic is pretty much useless with selfbink.

I'm actually surpriced to see how many's with realistic in this one. Including myself that is.
