Title: New Soldat User - How to play online?

Ok I know this is probably posted here somewhere but I couldn't find anything. I have been playing this with bots and I wanted to try out the online but I am confused on how to. Do I have to register and make a donation or what?

The registration only helps support the developers, and gives you a fancy star and a few other useless things (lets be honest).

To play online, hit the join game tab up top, and press request servers in the bottom left. Choose a server with low ping and some players and experience true soldat.

Oh, and you have to change your name too because many servers have automatic Major kick enabled.

Leos servers are a good choise.

Soldat does not have a matchmaking service built into it. This means you must search for the server you wish to join. Follow chutem's instructions to join a sever. It is wise to change your nick before joining a server (as Guile said), and to do so, click on the "Player" tab up top, and change the "Player Name:" text box. Enjoy the game.

As this seems to happen more often then it should here a small tutorial on how to join an online game in soldat:
Step 1: choose profile (http://arsse.u13.net/screenshots/soldatjoinonlinegame/onlinegame1.png)
Step 2: click on the join game tab (http://arsse.u13.net/screenshots/soldatjoinonlinegame/onlinegame2.png)
Step 3: request serverlist (http://arsse.u13.net/screenshots/soldatjoinonlinegame/onlinegame3.png)
Step 4: choose a server from that list (http://arsse.u13.net/screenshots/soldatjoinonlinegame/onlinegame4.png)
Step 5: click on the join game button (http://arsse.u13.net/screenshots/soldatjoinonlinegame/onlinegame5.png)

This should help new players to join online games.

However the fact that such a tutorial is necessary seems like we need a better soldat gui.
A suggestions thread with mockups for tabcaptions and button names etc. would be helpful (yes community feel free to contribute).
