Title: Thing Thing (Delayed)
Post by: O.R.I.O.N. on August 17, 2006, 03:31:05 pm: For those of you who've never heard of Thing Thing ( :o), take a look at http://diseasedproductions.net.Â It is my favorite flash game ever, and is one of the few that has real weapons AND makes them look real.Â Anyway, it has it's own little style that's genius in it's own way, and I took it upon myself to make a modification for it.Â However, I made this a while ago when I was still relatively new to Soldat and modding, but still, it's gotten good review from Thing Thing fans in the past.Â I even took the interface-gfx directly from the game (the hard way, without sprites).Â But now, it's time for an update.

I'll give you the origional download, but the major point is that I'm going to go back to it, fix a couple of balancing problems and shrinkage issues, get replacements for weapons I didn't have before (chainsaw, minigun, knive), and make the graphics more versatile.Â I might even add a Madness gostek for team 2 just for kicks. (Note: Weasel, the maker of the TT games, has a forum and has openly stated his dislike of people comparing TT to Madness. ;D)Â The biggest problem was that the weapons were a bit unrealistic (little or no recoil, depending on game, no reloading), but I'll work out the problems asap.

Anyway, here's a screenshot of the origional 1.0 edition:

But, anyway, I can possibly get more game sprites for more weapons, like Chainsaw => POSEIDON's beam cannon, Knive => Val Drieg's claw, and whatever else comes up. I might even make the Ruger the FN-FAL instead of the DEagle, and use the ZEUS rifle as the barret. The big problem is a weapon replacement for the minigun. I'll work that out eventuallly.

Anyway, I can't get any of my origional hosting to take the file.Â It's apparently too big.Â Until I can get it up, just pm me about it, and I'll email it to you until I can get the problem resolved.

That's what I ment. His prototype was a dissapointing ending. And bio-weapon sounds good.

Posting in a thread on a forum he hasn't been to in a while won't get him to update it. Send him an e-mail or contact him via MSN if you want him to re-upload the mod so badly.

I have way too much shit on that thing. >_>; ).

So, before you try and ask me, I'll try to re-host this mod, or, should I find the motivation, give it a much-needed facelift.

...meh, anyways. Now that Thing Thing 4 has been released, I should probably pick this up again, but try to dampen the fail factor somewhat. News on that to come.
