Hello,
In 2005, when the game's version was 1.3, I made it's first translation to Portuguese.
Michal even integrated it into the game, but never gave me the credits.
Now I have made a new translation for the version 1.6.0, and it is supperior to the actual version that comes with Soldat.
Please, I would like to know if you can replace the actual Soldat's portuguese translation for mine's.
Thank you.

I don't understand what you said in post 2 and 3.
Please tell me what you were talking about so I can decide it I replace the translation or not.
Thanks.

Well, we were arguing about if my translation is better or not than his (he claims the current portuguese translation was made by him).
First of all, I can say with NO DOUBT that the current portuguese translation was made over my first translation (in 2005), and whoever wrote it gave me no credits - thus, as a plagiarism..
Second, after translating soldat 1.6, I did a localization work, focused in Brazil. So my translation is suited for brazilians (most of portuguese speakers that play Soldat are from Brazil).
I don't know where this guy is from, but his portuguese is very strange to me. May be he is from some country in south of Africa... Idk...
So you have two choices:
First: Replace the current translation for mine;
Second: Keep both translations, but specifying my translation as "Brazilian Portuguese".
If you agree with the second option, I'll be already satisfied. But I must say that I am not sure that that guy really speaks portuguese, since his speech had lack of verbal and nominal agreement.
Thanks for your time,
Felipe Augusto (from Brazil) :)

- "Bem-vindo" -> "Benvindo"
Deve ter mais coisas erradas além destas, então precisa ser revisto. Também precisa ver diferenças entre o inglês da versão atual e de uma versão antiga. Tem certas coisas que não batem com o que foi mudado no inglês desta versão.
--
Well, to summarize, both of those have things wrong. "t3chn0k"'s has a more translated feel compared to what's in soldat 1.6 (many things from this version has - like the modes, for example - are still in English). I'm sure that other brazilians would prefer "t3chn0k"'s version if it was revised (with some fixes listed in Portuguese above). Also he needs to check if it matches what was changed in the current English version (apparently some of the things are still of an old version).
-
Quanto aos seguintes pontos:
1º. À questão de acertar as maiúsculas e minúsculas, eu concordo com você. A tradução está assim porque foi baseada no arquivo inglês original (de muito tempo atrás) e o mesmo continha esses erros;
2º. Ao "chutar" no lugar de kickar... é deprimente, já que ninguém usa o termo "chutar";
3º. Ao "Benvindo" (SIC) no lugar de "Bem-vindo", a palavra "Benvindo" não existe... A não ser o substantivo próprio ("Benvindo" é um nome de pessoa);
4º. Alpha, e Alfa, realmente... eu havia padronizado para "Alfa" e acabei me esquecendo de continuar assim depois dos updates... vou padronizar para "Alfa";
http://www.baixaki.com.br/download/soldatbr.htm
Corrigi minha tradução de acordo com nossa discussão. Mantive os termos "kickar" e "anti-cheat". Os nomes dos modos de jogo continuam começando com maiúsculas em todas as palavras, pois foram considerados como tÃtulos. Por favor, cheque o arquivo anexado a este post.
Obrigado pela crÃtica!
-------------------------------------------------
Summarizing, I still have some fixes to do, but they are just a few. And this is the proof that brazilians enjoy my translation, they downloaded it more than 61,000 times since I launched it. Check this link: http://www.baixaki.com.br/download/soldatbr.htm
This translation is available since the version 1.3. Note that they continued to download it, even after Soldat had it's own portuguese translation.
We were also arguing about translating or not the words "kick" and "anti-cheat". I think they should not be translated for a simple reason: their portuguese's correspondences are not usual. I mean, in portuguese "to kick" is "chutar", but when we want to kick someone from a server, we do use the word "kickar", which doesn't exist in portuguese. It is an anglicism, but it is how people speak here. Our language is not dead, it changes thru the time. And I must say that many words that were once considered as anglicisms are now in our portuguese's dictionaries.
Ok, I already fixed my translation. I kept the terms "kickar" and "anti-cheat". The game modes still start with capital letters in all words, since they were considered as titles. Please, check the file attached to this post.
Thanks

Sorry for not crediting you but we have no idea who made the translations because it wasn't documented.
I will have to check the the documentation files and add them.
But then again the documentation is outdated.
Anyways I will use your translation in the next Soldat version if no one has anything against it.
Your name will be in the credits files I just need to figure out where this stuff has to go.

t3chn0k is a good guy ;) Nice job man.
The 1.6 pt-br translation is made by Hex and you can find him at #soldat.bra.
----
t3chn0k, acho que "Cluster grenade" tem como tradução correta até pelo nome da granada na realidade como "granada de fragmentação" ou algo do tipo com palavra "fragmento". Veja você mesmo no Google: http://is.gd/TII134

The 1.6 pt-br translation was made by me.

The 1.6 pt-br translation was made me.
Ah, you know... Made by Hex in 1.5, fixed by Prodigy in 1.6.
-
- linha 44: "This option will be available to you after registering." -> "Esta opção estará disponÃvel para você após o registro."
- 45: "To register now just type www.soldat.pl/register in your browser." -> "Para registrar agora, digite www.soldat.pl/register no seu navegador."
- 56-59: não tem o "!" no final, a não ser que seja melhor assim.
- 191: "Weapon and Gostek graphics cannot exceed size 64x64 and 16x16. Network play is impossible. Please reinstall the game if this is not intentional." -> "Não é possÃvel jogar com gráficos de armas ou gosteks tão grandes na rede (16x16 e 64x64, respectivamente). Por favor, se não for intencional, reinstale o jogo."
- 276: o chute por "flood" é de 20 minutos agora.
- 282: "*SERVER*" -> "*SERVIDOR*"
- 615: "Please register to record demos as long as you want."
- 695: "Gamma" -> "Gama".

Ok updated to latest version.

New Soldat 1.6.2 texts translations.
-
Thanks for the update! Will be added in next version (if we don't change stuff again :P).
-
This is my 1.6.2 pt-br translation. It is based on my last translation... all I did was adding those 17 extra lines. Modesty aside, it is very good.
If you change anything else, just let me know and I will fix the translation.
Thanks. :)
-
Just for the records: Updated the translation ;) thanks t3chn0k.

Translation for Soldat 1.6.3:
I translated new lines according to new Shoozza's update: http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=41775.0
File attached.
-
I'm not sure how I should handle the translations from you two people (it looks like you don't want to work together).
But for how I added Prodigyx's new lines.
Thanks.
-
Sorry for making you wait, this is my translation for 1.6.3.
Edit: renamed
-
Great! Please use the file name "brazilian portuguese (pt-br).txt" next time so I don't have to rename it.

I added them to your translation so we can use it in the upcomming version. Is that ok?

Sorry for the delay in answering. These lines translated by Duz are good. I just want to make one consideration: the word "Recoil" could be translated as "Coice" instead of "Recuo", because in the context "Coice" would be more specific, while "Recuo" is a much more generical word that could open room for other interpretations (it means something like "Retreat" in portuguese). Anyway, "Recuo" is still acceptable — indeed, it is usually used as a synonymous. All the other translated words seems to be the best option in portuguese.
Thanks Duz for doing my work. :)
You also asked in the main topic if we have made the translation from the scratch or if we have just modified an existing translation. Well, proudly, I can say that I have made my translation from absolutly zero. :)
I have attached a translation that uses "coice" instead of "recuo" not only in these last lines, but also in two other parts of the translation that had already been translated.
If you need anything else, I'm here.

I included the line "|-Inh. Speed :", translating it as "|-Vel. Herdada :". I also changed the line "|-Espalha :" for "|-Espalhamento :", which I believe is better.
-
Included these lines:
#430 Música:
#818 Antiga versão de demonstração
#515 Lista das músicas que serão reproduzidas durante o jogo. Os arquivos de música devem ser colocados no diretório Soldat\Music.

Added the last line:
#819 Redimensionar interface
Original sentence: "Scale interface".
