Quite poor description, ADE... Maybe you'll find some time to improve it :)

why don't YOU describe it since it's apparently your design?

The idea of this section is to discuss about default maps. No description needed

I can do that anytime, but unfortunately I do not own any moderation rights to edit the first post in this topic. But it's nice you admit this map was designed by me :)

Okay ADE. Picture with polys should be enough :P

why would i deny it? the map description clearly states it..

This is probably more about Soldat itself than the actual map, but this is one of few maps which implements "flagger" collides polygons and in realistic mode it very often kills anyone trying to pass through that passage., so either the map must be changed or Soldat itself.

It is a "Soldat itself" problem and Fryer already fixed, will be ok in the next version. Some realistic servers admins already contacted me saying that they just removed this map from their mapslist for now. So don't worry :)

Ehh, that auto-update is really needed for quick fixes like this one.

Sorry but I don´t understand why this map was added to the default maps. There are really better maps around.
I actually don´t like any of the new default maps. I guess the "map making philosophy" has somewhat changed.
With the last version we had some really great maps like:
ctf_Guardian -most played map currently
ctf_Hormone
ctf_X
ctf_IceBeam
ctf_Blade

those are really highly appreciated maps by the community which have been added to the last version (I might have forgotten some).
The new default maps are rarely played - also they don´t even look nice. Just wanted to give some feedback so you might create some "old school" map again.

Once those (Guardian, Hormone, X, Icebeam, Blade) maps were also new and they had little common with current defaults by that time. Excluding Ash there weren't any deeply hectic map in maplist. Hectic maps was a new thing by then but today deeply hectic isn't alone any game changing aka worth default.

Map selection is digging what's the next big thing. Sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes popularity takes time (Scorpion, at least I believe). For example no one believed Guardian would get the largest popularity of those new "still old school" maps. It was actually the last map to get in...

The thing I've never understand is why it's made impossible to remove failed default maps in practice.

Haven't been so active lately so that could say a word about Crusifix's success...

Thanks for the feedback darDar. I was just joining the mapping team when the map was added.

Besides the map being creative and playing great, I remembered that we wanted new polytypes. They were just released and we needed some way to inspire mappers to explore these new possibilities.
Also, this map causes strong feelings in the players, some hate, some love, some like it fun. That's something you don't find in many maps.
Maybe it's not good for the competitive scene yet, maybe it will never be; but it is something new, plays great, and it's memorable.

Hi
I like this map,but...
The bounce down is a bad (my opinion) ;)

After seeing a good match on this map (check the first 15 mins of this (http://sv.twitch.tv/theofficialsoldattv/b/393475215) stream), I though of something to make the map a little less defensive
what do you think?

Just stick the flag into the ground to avoid it being boosted back

How to make bounce polygons like here?
get the latest Soldat PolyWorks from here (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=35195.0).
Create a polygon and select the polygon type 'bouncy' with right-click.
