Title: Devlog update (2013-04-29) Inactivity
Post by: Shoozza on April 29, 2013, 01:52:56 am
Hi everyone,

sorry for the inactivity :(

I should have continued posting news so you guys would know what is going on :/
I understand that some of you are angry because of the estimate, sorry for that.
The game should be out there long time ago...

Now about what was going on:
I was inactive for the last few weeks and looking at the commit log tells me that the other devs were inactive too.

I think the best way to get stuff rolling again is to keep posting the devlogs (and get a bad feeling each time no progress was made).

Currently the only thing which has to be done before we can release rc2 is the "weapons/flags spawn in the middle of the map".
This is a bug which happens on linux servers only.

So that's it for now I have to go hopefully this inactivity stuff will stop soon.
Cya!

You sure need some breaks from your commitment to Soldat, and the other developers just as much. That's for sure! But if you do, give us a hint of what's happening, because the community's expectations are always higher than what you guys can actually deliver. Stick to your plan of posting logs weekly and everything's going to be fine. Keep up the great work, but find your balance! ;)

Noticed you contemplating getting back into writing these, I think its good to hear from head of the dev team from time to time especially in neat post form. I think its better to take it slower and take a closer look at what you are releasing rather than rush it and step into flaming pile of crap trying to insta-fix bugs. First things first it would require some sort of anticheat protection which is essential imo.

Thanks for the update. Even though it's not really much of an update - it's still better than no posts at all. Keep going. :D
