Post by: ElephantHunter on June 29, 2013, 08:12:10 pm
Thoughts?

Also, did anybody else immediately think of Soldat's Snowden?

I don't think he's a bad person for releasing government secrets, especially since he revealed that they're spying us in potentially sleazy ways.

I wish him the best of luck, and I hope he doesn't get captured.

Also, did anybody else immediately think of Soldat's Snowden?

Is that a map?

Also, it's nice to see you again Lee, even though you just dropped by to see what this community would think about this ongoing situation.

I'm sure somebody is with him, who knows what happened.
Maybe he'll appear some day revealing some interesting information about the US.

Welcome back ElephantHunter!

From the American-Democratic aspect he is a traitor and deserves to be shoot or jailed till end of his life. End of story .

Say Edward Snowden exposed these documents via legal means (for example, talking to superiors). What would you think about the news that the United States is spying on its citizens?

If this spying is OK, at what point would government spying go too far? Would an Orwellian future be unreasonable?

Him letting everyone know that the US is spying on its citizens in questionable ways (they're reading/automatically parsing this thread right now) is an act of humanity, imho. Yo NSA, you down to help me find some porn I lost years ago that I haven't been able to find?

Would an Orwellian future be unreasonable?

The more people are okay with the NSA spying on everyone and all that the more this might be likely to happen. Then there's the conspiracy theories that say that it already is this way, where the government controls everything and things aren't really as they seem, and we just don't realize it. Really makes you wonder about things, but it's nothing worth dwelling upon.

I was in the area and couldn't help but notice this thread.

Necropost, but I'm sure you guys don't care about silly them little rules by now. Besides, it's me.

Edward Snowden? He's a big damn hero that's for sure. He's up there with Assange and Ghandi.

You know what's important? The truth. The truth is important. Know who gave you the truth? Snowden did. Your government didn't. Your government gave you a gloved finger up the ass, rummaging about. You didn't notice? Hell, you've never noticed. You're numb from all the constant rummaging in your ass. Snowden? He gave you a mirror to see what's behind you and see what's really going on. Your ass is wide open and now you know.

From the American-Democratic aspect he is a traitor and deserves to be shoot or jailed till end of his life. End of story .

I don't know you but you're clearly a blithering idiot if that's your opinion.

@Mangled: The blunt imagery only helps emphasise the point you're making, so yes, you hit the nail on the head. And yes, Vucgy92 is a damn idiot. ;)

I don't understand how they can really call him a traitor. Is freedom not a law in the US and A?

"Freedom" is only if what you're doing doesn't piss off the government.
