Simple, mute all spectators. During SCTFL (Soldat CTF League) sometime there's a lot of unnecessary commentary from spectators.
This simple command of "/mute specs" might save us all a pause or two, to tell people to be quiet.
Ty devs.

I don't think we need to add this to the game.
SCTFL admins can implement this with the scriptcore.
-
we're using a script that's called cwmode, if a spec talks twice within 20 sec or so, it gmutes the player for 150 sec, definitely recommended
-
You can't really implement this in scriptcore yet. You can gmute them, sure, but you can't make them muted only to somebody (like /mute does).
-
I also think not adding something trivial like this just because it can be done with scripts isn't the way to go. In the case with SCTFL, they don't even allow scripts to be activated on servers (because of hopefully obvious reasons).
I asked Nosejj to post this here for future reference, so I wouldn't forget that I want to implement it sometime soon.
-
I suggest to add /muteteam <TEAM_ID> instead of just /mute specs.
-
That's a good idea, Syvax.
1/2/3/4, 5 for spec. :)
-
After discussing with Fryer,
The /muteteam <TEAM_ID> will be implemented in a future release.

Any news on that?

Maybe I should get access to the code. :P

Would be great either for the dev team as for you, for gaining further experience !
There is quite a large group of 'inactive" devs in the team right now. Adding some(one) more (even if it would just be for smaller tweaks) surely wouldn't hurt !

it would also be cool to differentiate global chat muting and teamchat muting, for example what we want here is specs not being able to disrupt the match so it regards global chat, but still they should be able to speak on teamchat
