Title: "strange" files in scenery-gfx
Post by: Rotem on September 24, 2015, 09:13:03 am
i just happend to look inside scenery-gfx folder, and i saw those porn pictures inside...
dont know why they are needed in soldat, who puts them in server so we download it..but as a religious man i dont want them in my pc.
just wanna ask if its possible not to download them when i play (guess its usualy climb maps)?
what can i do about it? why are they needed to be downloaded as i never see them in game? and even if its seen ingame, is it possible to skip those unnacessery pics anyway?
thanks for help!

Hello,

You can simply modify the scenery file using a program such as Paint.

Mapmakers can use them like any other scenery, I also stumbled across them in climb maps.
Even if they are not visible, they can be included into the map scenery list and downloaded that way.

It's not possible to block any kind of these pictures automatically, but you can savely delete all of them (don't forget to empty the recycle bin, after)
As long as you don't need to re-download the map file itself, the pictures won't be redownloaded by playing that map, they will just show up as missing
If you download a new map however which uses that scenery, you'll have it on your computer again

It takes 30 seconds to do so.

Just open offensive image, put whatever colour you like rectangle over it, save it and you're done. Soldat won't re-download it. You won't need to delete them again. That's what Bistoufly meant since the beginning.

Yes. That's what I meant.

Thank you Furai.
