I think the top one should be for LAW, the middle for grenades. The smoke is definitely better than the current one, which is barely visible.

Gifs entirely are running @ 50-60 fps. Smokes Soldat-Game uploaded are @ 30 fps. In-game fps is 400~.
Not sure where you're getting the 16 fps from.

To clear up some confusion: Soldat uses 16 images (frames) for explosion, played at the speed of roughly 20 frames-per-second*.
*Judging by the lack of smoothness and the fact that explosion it's shorter than half-a-second, it definitely looks worse than 30 frames-per-second.
Either way like Savage said, first the game needs to actually support more frames for smoother explosions before we can use it. Or use a whole different particle system altogether.
