Title: Limiting default interfaces
Post by: helloer on January 05, 2019, 09:11:18 am
Hi soldaters,

For the upcoming version we would like to reduce the number of default interfaces to 3-5 in order to improve overall quality of the game.

Current list of default interfaces:
Code: [Select]
cabbage
classic
lacey-v2
micro1
military
predator
soldat style
storm
tech
text

Which interfaces should be left in the default pool and which should be added? (Check out https://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?board=24.0 for new interfaces)

Cabbage is the best from the current ones imo. The rest looks like crap and I'd vote to remove all and use some of the custom ones from the site.
I'd add Simplex (https://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=44063.0 (https://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=44063.0)) and LineShadows(https://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=44120.0 (https://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=44120.0)) from CCalp but at least for me they both don't show current weapon name (probably interface scalling turned off problem?) and LineShadows has some text rendering issues (too thin text "ammo","jet","health"). Also since both were meant to be simple the menu background is 100% transparent and i think at times it looks kinda unfinished (random floating text feeling).
LineShadows would suit people that like minimalistic interfaces and is still self-explanatory thanks to texts (I'd add some light background for menu parts here)
Simplex would be a good choice for more hardcore players that want as minimum shit as possible (I'd leave the 100% transparent menu parts here)

I kinda agree with Viral. I am actually using LineShadows right now. Simplex is decent indeed. As for cabbage, it's fine but it might need some HDfication in my view.

Just remember to keep the oldie default one and I'm good.
