I was just thinking about this, you know that morter looking thing in the map maker? Looks kind of like a m79 with a bipod?

I was thinking if that could ever be added as a secont type of stat gun in the next soldat.

I was kind of pissed when I first saw it and found It wasn't a stat gun.

I was thinking it would require you to laydown/crouch to fire it, and that it would shoot the same as the m79, only shoot a bit faster and have better range, like an artillery cannon.

It would be used in maps in certain places and you couldn't see where you were shooting ( if you were shooting long range) . You would just have to sort of guess or have a teammate tell you.

This could also be a cool thing for trench wars to make them a bit more realistic.

Just a thought.

You can mod the stationary gun so that it can be used like an M79-bullet shooting mortar. I've made one for my Vietnam War mod, it's not perfect yet, I need to get the overheat time right but it's works really well.

I know I can mod it, but just as a idea for 2 types of stat guns.

Also, HOW DO YOU CONTROLE THE OVERHEAT TIME?!?!

I mean the time before it overheats, from what I remember, you tweak it through ammo.

wouldnt this be better in the suggestions section???? if you read the rules, it says that the beta team can only mod teh current txt file, and before you suggest any weapon changes that would fit in there you should get the expirimental balance. otherwise your just complaining about a 9 month old balance that was released in 1.3.1, an that doesnt make much sence.

Mortar = fire the LAW upwards ;) No new weapons will be created, and they're not about to change or add a new stat. gun (balance tediousness and coding impracticality), so that's the next best thing.

Vertical LAW salvos represent mortars amazingly well if you try it, actually.

technically a law doesnt have a reload time...its a one-time-one-shoot gun, they just carry a butt load with them. but yes, 9 second reload is a bit much IMO

Well, tbh, you won't notice the reload time if you have thrown away your primary wep and you have to run away from your enemy with LAW in your hands :S
