Lately I hvae seen a rise in the use of mini.... and the people that use it are actually ok with it... anyone else noticed?

Minigun or Minimi?
I've noticed a rise in both.

Id notice more minigun, but I know there's more minimi's around.

I use the minigun now sometimes. Its actually quite effective when used correctly.

tons of people are using the minigun now...they actually all seem to get quite a few kills....it's kinda wierd

Some guy was p00ning with it in Leo's inf the other day. Kept alpha pinned down on abel.

The minigun's disabled in a most of the Aussie servers.

I have seen a rise in usage, but most of them can't use it for crap. Today I was playing a Ctf on Viet. Someone on our team was standing still and blindly spraying across the hill. The bullets didn't even go all the way across because he didn't even move enough to see the height of the hill. I hate those kinds of people.

Yes theres a rise in the Minigun for sure, but the minimi pro's arent very common on the servers i go to. Ak 74's are more common :P

I like to use the minigun when I'm in the mood...despite the fact everyone will shout at you" OMG NOOB!!11" I'm pretty good with a minigun/socom combo :D

i just got outa a server of ctf 5v5, and the entire opponent team was using the minigun. I was like a wave of bullets, cause they would all cover thier base when we got near....it was annoying, but we still won

I've noticed it, the minimi has become popular too. The deagles and ruger seem practically unused now. Back when I played that's all anyone used, especially myself.

Ah ha! I was right, soon miniguns will be the new barret and minitard will flood teh server chats!

Yeh I did see a couple people using the minigun in U13's PM server, they definitely weren't good though. They were usually dead before they got off more than 10 bullets.

Nearly every server I go on nowadays has a minigun user if not more and they're good with em...

Minigun spray can be pretty awesome if there are 3 or more people using it on a larger map.

I don't think there's been a rise in the minimi usage, but the ones using it have definitely gotten better. Such oponents are so much more effective these days. I tend to use it as well, since it's amazingly good at holding the other team at bay(as said above).
As for the minigun, the way I see it, it's a fun-weapon. People using it more and more is just a sign of being more relaxed about the hole soldat thing, instead of being so focused on simply raising your score. It's a mental thing, really. Diving deep into the human psyche allows us to understand the pattern developing when playing impulsive, yet simple games such as soldat. Somehow along our quest for the highest rank, we tend to get bored with just killing.. Now we suddently feel drawn to the "moments". What I mean by that, is instead of being number one all the time, you wanna live out the moments where you feel like, "Woah, 4 vs. me, and i nailed'em". The moments where people go like, "w00t, HAX!"... The minigun is kinda hard to use, so being godlike with this particular somehow spreads the word: "You might as well disconnect"
Or the mimigun being used more could just be a coincidence.

I hate the minigun, the only use i found for it was that you can hover over ppl when you run out of jet fuel, i think there is a rise in m79's personally, as for the minigun, there are just more noobs that happen to be ok with the mini.

I know I did. :) It just looks so incredibly powerful. Also neat to see it sticking up on your back when you switch it out for the secondary weapon. It still is fun to get in someone's face and unload until he's dead.
