Cause mine will crash, maybe when it starts, maybe when someone tries to join or just.... crash with no reason ??? ???
-
Did you delete the files? What do your logs say?
-
Nothing in the logs.
-
Have been working flawlessly for me.
-
Leo, i think that scripting on linux server is somehow corrupted, hopefully Enesce will do something with it
oh and do you have linux server?
-
Yes linux and I have it always disabled :(
-
I have had the same problem, 2 linux servers with scripting disabled. they shut down randomly now and then..
Ive posted this already, and enesce advised me to downgrade the server. Im very happy i did.
ps1
heres the link to my thread

ps2
this should be in server help and not scripting help, as it doesnt have to do much with the scripting itself.

as i posted, scripting was disabled.
the host is running about 4-6 servers, of which i had 1 at the moment.
i also had a server at another host, who ran the server on a windows server. this also had scripting disabled and also had random shutdowns.
it also has some kind of logging error - flooding remote admin tools and logs with 1000x the same line
PS: this 2nd post was a reply to cooz.. seems he removed his post
-
yeah i removed it after reading topic, cause my advice was useless ;)
...you tried to turn off scripting already
-
I rented a server to Bja888 for that King of The Hill event that he ran. It is on Linux and he had no problems with scripting

Was flawless

All my servers are Linux, 6 of my servers have scripting enabled, no problems at all. The only issue Linux had that Windows didn't was that the Split function caused crashes, but thats fixed in 2.6.0.
-
wasn't there something you mentioned about getpid() or something? or was that only in pre-release 2.5.2?
-
That was pre-release but was fixed in 2.5.2.

thanks, I was wondering about that
-
Well, all these are nice in theory guys but practically sript feature is useless to me, which is pity. I may give it one more try but I know that it won't help.
-
Oh well, better luck next time.

Don't you think that there is a problem there ? Eventhough it works for some for some others doesn't. Like a developer you should look into it ;)
-
A developer cant look into it if he doesn't have some way of testing the problem.
-
Like EnEsCe said, given the nature of how the dedicated server reports errors, to debug the crashes EnEsCe would need SSH access to a server, to examine what causes the crashes; be it a general configuration issue or a flaw with the server, it can't be tracked down without this kind of access. Not to mention the time it takes to track something like this down. Just look at how long it took to track down the WrongMapVersion bug.
-
i could give ssh access to server on which random crashes happends,
also i found 100% effective way to crush server which only works when scripting is on:
on server with no scripts installed while being admin(so it won't kick you), try holing keyboard on some taunt - it will crash server with standard 'not integer value' bug
-
Any chances of this being related to the PERL interpreter version you guys have installed on your linux boxes?
Try upgrading it (if it's not the latest version) just to see what happens.
-
It works now. I may had a beta version of 2.5.2. I was beta testing for enesce before the release and I think I may had an older binary...
