Title: A Noobie Question About Scenery Packs.
Post by: Ajnin Ezakimak on November 22, 2006, 07:57:00 pm
Hey, I'm getting into making a map, and I've downloaded a decent pallette of colors.  Next, would be Scenery.

Now I downloaded a good scenery packs from the resources here, but I don't know where to extract them.

My Polyworks directory is:  C://program files/soldat/soldat polyworks

Put all the scenery graphics into C:\Program Files\Soldat\Scenery-gfx

And reset that directory to just ..\Soldat, not ..\Soldat\Soldat PolyWorks.

So when I'm done, my Soldat folder will have my Polyworks folder inside it?  0.o

No, remove Soldat PolyWorks from your Soldat folder and dunk it in program files. Now open up Polyworks, go into Edit -> Preferences -> Soldat. Set this option to C/Program Files/Soldat. That should do the trick. If you're using Polyworks 1.4.0.5 you have to right click to make the scenery list appear.
Hope that clears it all up :)

Heck, I don't even HAVE a PW folder. All my PW folder's original contents are sitting in the Soldat directory. :P It actually doesn't matter where they're located as long as the Soldat dir. is set to... well, Soldat's.

Is the .EXE with all the other files from the original PW folder? They all have to be in the same folder.

REINSTALL it into "program files", dont randomly move the folder around, it messes up the registry

This is kind of sad, the error still shows, after reinstalling.

Are you using a shortcut from your desktop?  Make sure whatever shortcut you are using links directly to the exe in the polyworks folder.

Okay, you need to put the scenery into C://Soldat/Scenery-gfx.

As for the error, im not sure about that, sorry.

1. Download PW.
2. Highlight all the files in the Soldat PolyWorks folder within PW, and drag them into your Soldat directory. If your Soldat dir. is in [ C:\Program Files\Soldat ], put all the contents in there.
3. Run PW, and set the directories accordingly.

Tell me where it went wrong.
