Netsplit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netsplit)

Yeah, it was most likely a netsplit, which occurs when two or more servers disconnect from the rest of the network. This effectively creates two QuakeNets until the servers re-establish their connection with each other. They usually last only a few minutes, but it's not unheard of for netsplits to last several hours. If you find yourself on the bad side of the netsplit, with no or few people in any of the channels, try reconnecting to a different server.
A list of them are here: http://staff.quakenet.org/servers.phtml

I've joined a couple times, it was always empty. :-[

Then you used the wrong IRC server. In mIRC, you have to set the server to quakenet ( /server irc.quakenet.org ), because it's not the default one.

Unless a netsplit occurs, we're always in #soldat.forums. At least around 25 of us in there at all times if no netsplits occur. Even then we join right back. Most days I leave myself in #soldat.forums while I'm at school. Today however I turned off my computer. I give it a rest about once every week to to weeks.
