Just wondering if any users incorporate Ventrilo into their game play.
I have recently and I gotta say its quite effective, even if some people can be a tad jarring on the ears.
There wouldnt happen to be a complex list of servers that take advantage of Vent, would there?
If not, there should be.

Many people (including myself) use TeamSpeak. There's an official forums.soldat.pl/u13.net teamspeak server at forums.soldat.pl port 8767 (default).
I prefer teamspeak over ventrilo because:
1) the permissions system for registered users kicks ventrilo's ass
2) ventrilo look like crap
3) ventrilo just has a horrible interface, I hate using it
4) ventrilo doesn't have a linux client

who? and if you're talking about the original post, go look up what ventrilo and teamspeak are before spamming the topic.

@ds dude: Â Ventrilo and Teamspeak are two programs you use to communicate with friends/family via microphones.
I rarely use those kinds of programs to communicate with my teammates (I use taunts), but I have tried both and I prefer TS over Venty for the above reasons.

TeamSpeak is simply the best and only one.
Ventrilo looks very low quality for some reasons.

Well considering the layout really shouldnt effect the usage of the program, looks arent all that important to me.
I havent bothered with teamspeak I guess cause my clan is vent-oriented.
Although it would be fun to chat with fellows on the forums via teamspeak.

not too many people are aware that there is a TS server running at forums.soldat.pl/u13.net (its the same server), hopefully people will start using it enough that you can go there and always see familiar "faces"

Many IRC clans use voice communication to pass through enemy posisitions and time attacks.
I don't mind using either of the two programs, although I must say I prefer ventrilo's clean interface over TeamSpeaks'. It also tells you the name of the person joining your channel/server.
On the other hand, TS has a better user system and more compatibility for other systems.
Just a matter of which you prefer I suppose, both work just fine.

I did mean really tell. As in by speech using the microsoft sam voice :)

Umm.. almost everyone uses Vent or Teamspeak
I like vent better though :)

I think the main reason I use TS, is because vent's interface SUCKS

teamspeak is better because it seems more official and all - nicely organized servers and channels and it overall just seems better...

wow, I didn't even realize it wasn't running. I restarted the server 2 days ago and forgot to start teamspeak back up.

I use Ventrilo, and I didn't know there was programs allowing you to have multi-soundconvos before I got this, so I still think it's pretty cool to have soundchat with many people at the same time.

sometimes, my clan justs uses XFire voice chat, if we need to say something real quick and don't wanna bother opening TS when we could just press 'Active voicechat'
but it tends to get laggy with too many people, which is why it's not our primary... server for... voice chatting..

Personnally I perfer ventrillo over teamspeak just because the fractured server at peak hours has like 50+ people on. I haven't used Teamspeak since I joined a clan in AA 3 years ago, so I might check it out now that soldatforums has a server

I agree with everything FLAB said, but I am forced to use ventrilo cause that's what fractured uses

I prefer Ventrilo as it seems to give me a Clearer Sound of ones voice and it shows me the ping <3

TS will show you the ping too if you right click on your name in the user list.
TS also has the same quality, but a lower default. Channel owners can turn up the bitrate in their channels to make it as good as/better than ventrilo

I don't really see much of a difference, they both work fairly well. i do like the chat option in ventrilo where U can type stuff and make the automated voice speak it.

Hmmm, ive been using ventrilo for a long while. It fun, you can have admin log. The interface doesnt matter to me, I dont need my whole computer high-tec. Ventrilo rocks =] Aswell as the whole fractured community <3
