Alright dudes, here's the plan : I want to make a weapon only mod about the more famous forum-goers, like Eagles-Arrows, that 't' guy, Vig (maybe). Each gun would be modled and named after it's forumer, e.g. Eagles Arrows would be a rambo-style bow that fires eagles :)
Because I went to Montreal and my imagination stayed behind, I need some suggestions for people. Just post a nomination (for your self or others) and a couple of themes for guns and their ammo. Go ahead, I dare you ;)

Make Keron a gun which takes over other players by underlining their guns, then denies it. :P
Make a gun based on Ru. Ask him for a voice sample, and make it the fire sound. Also, it should instantly kill whatever it touches and go through people.
Make FLAB a slow flight device which gradually picks up speed. Like the space shuttle, which has the aerodynamic properties of a brick with wings.
Avarax's gun should shoot that bomb thing he's got as an avatar.

Alright, let me restate this : weapons that are possible :) Possibly the only thing that anyone could ever do (other than EnEsCe and MM) would be the second and the fourth one.

Make Keron's gun shoot fists. That disarms people, probably the equivalent of taking people over in Soldat.
Also, the gradually gaining speed is possible if you set the speed boost to less than what Soldat views as the highest possible speed. Make it -100 speed with shotgun pellets for starters, adjust as needed.

Oh I knew the fists, but I understood it as something similar to that pervasive lag glitch goin' around. When you switch teams on a high-ping server, it's possible for you to kind of spectate another player, but have partial control over 'em. Y'can't do that with fists :)
And you may have misunderstood what putting negative speed values creates, it doesn't fire things slowly, it fires 'em backwards. I didn't fully grasp what you meant though, so could you re-explain ?
And Mister C., you are definately 'famous' enough :) Heck, I might get nominations (for anyone) then start a poll to find out who gets in.

I think that if you have the speed not be the maximum Soldat allows you to go normally (while falling, for example), then you can have acceleration as the speed increases to the maximum. I haven't tried this, so feel free to shoot me down after testing it.

If you think I'm worth it, a weapon "based on" me would have to be a chainsaw replacement... Not sure exactly what, though...

Well, xtishereb, I asked how to make a projectile slowly accelerate in another forum. The short answer, was 'it's impossible'. The long answer is that the physics engine in Soldat is sophisticated enough so that, without external influence (which is impossible on bullets) things only slow down. So sorry, but it's impossible ....
As for everyone else : I'm starting a poll, anyone who wants to be nominated in should do so by ... let's say Tuesday of next week. Then I can start work on the 'weapons only' mod over the weekend. Of course, if you want to volunteer to do your own gun then by all means do so :)
BTW, that means voting will open Wednsday.

Or I could do the knife replacement, a STOP sign, or maybe a guitar that you can whack someone with, some kind of bizzare melee weapon ;D

I don't think jrgp should be in it, or anyone who's been here for a small bit longer than a year, for that matter, unless they did something remarkable (ie. made Polyworks, became an admin, etc). They're taking up spaces that really known forumers should have (Outcast, Rambo, Nightcabbage, Geo, M, etc).
I wouldn't mind if I weren't included.

I have been here for around 2 years, not a small bit longer than a year, and I have never seen you do something remarkable.
Anyway, the people you mentioned are far more important than you or me.

Fists would be insanely difficult to use, xtishereb... if an enemy isn't at the exact position away from you where the fists strike, they'll be useless oO'
How is your third weapon idea possible, BTW (pick up speed?? You can't do that unless you launch it with gravity's aid)

I would love a m79 modeled after me but yeah oucast is pretty awsome with it :( Anyway if I am done whatever gun that I am represented by can just be made into a cross. Good ol Ru? He is a ruger man and as we all know he loves fisting.... if only we could combine those two things... Enesce should be added sure but I can't think of anything for him... Flieslikeabrick... the law made into a brick shooter :D Thats all I have to say now.

Jeeze, does anyone live on PST ? I swear, all the posting gets done while I'm asleep.
In any case, Keron, fists shot from a normal gun will hit people at any point between when it's fired and when it dissapeared. The dissapearing point is based on how fast the gun shoots (fists don't experience gravity). I've tried a fist gun a few times; quite an interesting debacle :)
I've got a few more hours left of good thinking time before I go braindead in front of the boob-toob, I'll get on a couple mods. Be aware that this is the first time I've ever actualy tried this :D
Edit: I've never sprited guns before, so go easy on me. The Ru-Ruger fires Waffles and the Wraithlike-Spas fires smilies.

All I can think of for the chainsaw is some goofy red futuristic half-chainsaw half-sword thing that maybe puts off a green glow when being revved... I'll try to put more thought into it. :P

I'm not talking about the projectile, I'm talking about the player. I wanted a slow boost, like a chainsaw jetpack, which I assume would gradually give the player more speed until they go as fast as Soldat allows them to. But I like the brick shooter better.

I do think that Flab, Ru, Gram, Outcast, and EnEsCe should be in this.

Well, I've got the Brick done for the Flab launcher, but I have no idea what to mod the LAW into; e.g. cement mixer, keg, etc... Plus the fact that no one can imagine what EnEsCe could replace :)

This is me in 'Self Righteous' Mode but i wouldn't mind a sniper in the form of a cross bow or slingshot that shoots 'deadeyes' (eyeballs if you will!)
I doubt i'm a particulaly well known outside the modders section though but hey! what do you think?
