i want to know how to make a light saber and make it glow

I don't think it's possible. There are too little pixels to do that and it's .bmp file. But try, if you success you'll be my hero.

Just make a knife and use partial transparency on the weapon-gfx. I'll try whipping something up from a lightsaber mod I have.

EDIT: See the attached image. Big ones are the images for knife.bmp in interface-gfx/guns, small ones are knife.bmp and knife-2.bmp in weapons-gfx.
Cut out the ones you want using a image editing program that supports partial transparency, like The GIMP. Cut and paste the image you into a separate image with no background and it as a .png. Rename it to a .bmp and treat it like a normal mod file.
Sorry if you can't really understand that, it's the only way I know how to explain it.

Does soldat accept this or are you just guessing? Last I knew transparency wasn't allowed in Bmps for weapons

I know a way, but it will have to be a chainsaw.

First make a light saber with its beam and name it chainsaw.bmp
Then make a light saber with a much brighter beam than before and save it as chainsaw-fire.bmp

Test that out. When firing, youll get the desired ''glow effect''.

Soldat can accept transparency in weapons files, follow the process I stated. See this screenshot for the cold, hard, blurry proof.
I may be wrong about weapons-gfx files, but I think it worked in my USP mod. Test it out and tell me if I'm wrong.
