I heard about it before but I never saw this video. It's about Quantum Physics....the Double Slit experiment. I bet some of you owuld find this interesting.

Never seen it, but that was a pretty cool video.  The first part kinda reminded me of how the mass spectrometers work, except without a magnet and whatnot..pretty cool stuff.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

I've seen it, and I still have a hard time understand why the hell particles behave like that.
I have a Mac so I can't play with you guys no more :(
(psst MM make a Mac version)

That's odd. Have no idea how it would work. Never seen it before anyway.

Woah, that's pretty amazing. i didn't quite get the thing about the particles going through, not going trhough and then going thruogh anyway, all at the same time, though. But it really did amaze me.
Nice on Dascoo.

I knew about the concept, but haven't seen that video or the experiment it was based on.

Thanks Dascoo.

Also, if anyone can understand this then they'll also be able to understand the corny physics joke in the "Luck of the Fryrish" episode of Futurama. A horse race finishes and the winning horse is measured using an electron microscope, the announcer then declares number four the winner by 'quantum finish' to which the proffessor shouts "No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it."

i don't really get it
are they saying that the thing that measures the stuff is interfering or what?
cos to me they seem like though they are saying that the electron is shy lolz

The basic concept is that by measuring a particle, you change it's path and therefore the outcome of the experiment.

I didn't watch the video but if it's the same double slit experiment I think it is, it's talking about how strange photons behave (wave or particle?) and how the photon detector will pick up more photons than it actually should because of that. Pretty interesting to see how bizarre the universe really is.

Yeah yoiu got it right there....it doesn't mean the particle is intelligent though and it knows you're looking at it.

You can't prove that it isn't/doesn't. ;D
