Polyworks Error

[Hello There]

...Well I was psyched when i got my new computer, so when i got it i knew the first thing i had to do is download PW and get to mapping. so I download it, extract it to my soldat folder, then i get an error:

dv8xb.dll not fond or something like that.

So i download it and but the file into my windows folder like it tells me to, and it does work, so then guess what. I open pw and it says that the following file (which came in the folder that you download)

"'MBMouse.ocx'

Or one of its dependencies are not currently registered: a file is missing or invalid"

So i redownload it and it still doent work. Unfortunately, ive promised some maps by a deadline, so id like this problem cleared up as quick as possible

Also, not saying this may be one of the factors interefering, but i have Windows Vista, and im not quite sure it PW may be compatible with it, since it is so current.


And other thing, is MS paint supposed to come standard on widows? Because i dont have it, and it would have been good if i could have posted a screenshot of the error.

Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint

I think all of those files can be found in the Soldat directory. Copy them over into your PW directory, or drag the PW contents into your Soldat folder.

If youd take a look at your PW foder, you will realise that mbmouse.ocx is a file used to run Pw, not to run Soldat.

You didnt help at all, sad to say. But thanks for pointing out the "all programs" in the start menu...im new to vista so i didnt notice it

Ouch. Rather direct, are you?

Perhaps Vista itself is the problem? I've been told that upgrading to Vista right now wouldn't be a wise action since most Windows programs don't support it. Anyways, here is my own copy; put it wherever the rest of PW's contents are.

Background is black, cant turn on tools...I'm helpless...I guess I'll have to give up the one thing that I play soldat for.

Taken directly from the Polyworks read me .txt.

"09. I get this error when I try to run PolyWorks: System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770). The specified module could not be found. (Or any 'missing file' type errors.)
Make sure these files exist in your Windows\System32 folder: MBMouse.ocx, COMDLG32.OCX, mscomctl.ocx, msvbvm60.dll, dx8vb.dll, scrrun.dll. The first three are included in the PolyWorks zip, the others can be found with google. If putting them in the Windows\System32 folder doesn't work try resistering the missing files: start -> run, type in regsvr32 name_of_file.dll_or_ocx."

Yes, i have, downoading all of the .dll files in unison with transferring keron's mbmouse.ocx didnt do anything but get me where i am now, with a pool of new errors to work with.
