Guardian of Paradise

Guardian of Paradise is a fun little Zelda-ish game by Buster, who you may know as having created Akuji the Demon. GoP casts you as Tela, a boy whose sister has fallen ill. Nobody knows what's wrong with her, so there seems to be no cure, but legends tell of healing waters in Paradise, so Tela sets out to find the fabled land and save his sister. He encounters elemental spirits along the way, which provide magic, and the basis for the game's puzzle system.

Guardian of Paradise is an excellent, freeware, top-down action RPG. There is not much more I can say. It features an interesting combat and magic system and elemental spells and abilities, such as swimming, flight, and attacks.

The game is a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's starved for a good action-rpg. It doesn't compare to Cave Story, but it provides a great time.

Enjoy![/b]

Alright..it's going on 2am so I'm not entirely here, but I think I'm missing something...

I download the original, and then the translation..extract the translation and try to install it in the same folder as the original, but it says there's no files to update.  What gives?

Looks like a pretty fun game, and I'm interested in playing ;_;

The translation pack worked fine for me. I unzipped the game and translation exe, ran the translation exe, pointed it to the extracted game folder, and it did the rest with no problems whatsoever.

I'll play it tomorrow, since it's really late.

Well that's nice and all, but perhaps you or anyone else has a suggestion as to what I'm doing wrong seeing as how I did the exact same thing, yet the translation .exe keeps telling me there isn't any game to translate.

Edit: Scratch that, fixed it.

i didn't like it the first 2-5 minutes into the game, you should not see a single monster without having something to stab it with. That was what Zelda did right.

Most Zelda ripoffs tend to be "if you get me ____ ill give you a ____ to give to ____ to get a _____ to find some _____ to buy a _____ to trade for a ______ and 3 _____ to get through ____ dungons and save the princess from _____." If i ever try this again ill hope that isn't the case.

You need to find the sword first. If you're encountering monsters, then you are either going the wrong way, or you need to do a little dodging.

Perchance were you the one who spread word about Cave Story around as well? If so I must say you have a good taste in games =)
At the moment I'm addicted, and it gives me something to play for a while. Thank-you for the heads-up!
