New Posts.. Not really
« on: March 01, 2007, 03:52:37 pm »
Hey,
you know how theres a blue button 'new' near posts, that are obviously.. new.
And seems to work quite well, but when you follow a link from the recent posts box, it doesn't seem to trigger it off.

So I have 'new' buttons on many topics I have already read.. ::)
Hope this can be fixed.

I'm pretty sure that is impossible since the time you've seen a post is updated by the "view thread" page, not by clicking on a certain type of link.  Nonetheless, I'll look into it

edit: it works fine for me.  What browser are you using?

Odd it's working for me now..

Btw I'm using Konqueror
And the s'morning I went and clicked on a recent topic link by Clawbug (In Scripting Discussions and Help) and it still says its new now.
Maybe it's because he posted only about 2 minutes (or less) before I read it..

Why in the world are you using Konqueror?
Many reasons why. Some:
  • FTP integration (And lot of other protocols supported)
  • Lighter than Firefox
  • Great KDE integration
  • More efficient for me (eg. browse web with konqueror, then notice script needs update, ftp using konqueror, click on file, automatically opens in kate, do changes, save automatically updates to server (through ftp) everytime I save)
  • Handy Features (Spell Check (I know Firefox 2.0 has it, but Konqueror had it months before), Browser Identification Plugin (Can browser site I'm not meant to, acting as a search bot)

Konqueror= MUCH better for me

I use firefox on windows..
(..expect Karma drop)

Just use "Active Topics" (unless this bug affects this page too of course).

When you see it happen, try clearing your browser cache and look again.  I don't think this is a forum-related issue at all
