Guidence in Death
« on: March 18, 2007, 07:08:24 am »
I now just remember what map it was on but as for the name, I forget what the name of it was. All I know was that this was a pretty heavy moment which lead my ffc to score. I know that usually when I play, I play as the decoy plainly named decoy of course. And among those things, I play the roll of an assassin with the use of stealth in sight and sound (equip w/ rugar and knife) as well as a guard of the friendly flag carrier (equip with m79 and socom). Thus I approach the situation with the anticipation of death at my doorstep (which is why I drop a nade upon my death as a surprise. =P)

But this moment was beyond belief. I was unaware that I could be of service while dead and not playing an actual spy. But to my surprise I was. This was in a realistic server meaning that everything within your blind spot lies either behind solid barriers and behind you. I died in a moment of guarding my flag carrier while getting either one or two kills; I don't exactly remember. Anyway, once I died my flag carrier was literally a sitting duck ready to be assaulted from blind spots. Usually I would report immediately where the enemy was approaching from like "inc low" and such but I was only speaking through the ffc's eyes at that moment.

Now honestly I don't know weather I told him in the precise moment when to move or he might have heard it himself but when I told him where to move, he moved. I do remember guiding him before he looked to where he was to go though. "FFC, Go up." "Now" He flew up avoiding the dagger meant for him while looking down. Glad he took it upon himself to fire as well, killed him dead =P. "Watch out below" With that, he anticipated where the enemy approached was from a platform he was to dismount off of and fired a few shots from below the platform he jumped off of and killed him. His sight was to his top left. "Behind you." He turned and was able to avoid the worst of the 1 hit kill that awaited him that moment. And I believed that I caught him once more. I can remember more so three words of caution than four. But right when he returned to base, I spawned, ready to take up a different roll and retrieve the flag. Often I would equip a flank cannon and a law for that but while caught in the moment, I went forward with my usual m79 and ussocom, expecting that the person I killed and the first that he killed would return moments after.

Very nice! Reminds me of a guy who knew exactly where everyone was camping, standing, where they were aiming and moving, everything. He didn't even once that game, because he knew where he would go.
Thanks to the rest of the team.

Holy crap, that was awesome. I mean, either he could either read really fast or see really fast or you and him had some kind of telepathic bond.
I liked the ending, even though you helped him dodge some shots, you're not through yet.

Thanks. Honestly that was the only time I enjoyed a long respawn time. Other times it's a pain to see my corpse tossed aside without a complimentary nade of my own to assure my team mates some leeway in the struggle. And I think I even got a thanks out of that too from the flag carrier. The rest is vague during that game because of that moment and I don't think that it'll ever happen again. Often we have a flag carrier pearched up near the flag looking to get an easy score in. That's something I don't do because I know that I am expected there.

I also like it when I'm assisted by team mates telling me where to look out for approaching enemies. The cooperation and forewarning realy helps when decisive commands and suggestions are given and followed through in team chat. Otherwise, asking someone to guard the flag may think that I ask for them to camp. You can guard the flag while not camping as well...just back away from the flag slowly. Technically you're moving.

But still I love those moments of team support. n_n
