Regarding Old Thread Revival
« on: March 29, 2007, 06:50:34 pm »
Several members across the forums have been complaining about a certain someone reviving old threads.  Let us just remind you that our official stance on necroposting is that we simply don't care as long as you have something to contribute.

That doesn't mean, however, that it isn't annoying to all the other members of the forums.  They don't like to read through old material just to see one sentence about how the poster has the same problem and it is considered rude when you don't add anything significant to the conversation.

So while we won't punish you for bringing back old threads with pertinent comments, please be sensible about it and don't post unnecessarily.

Thanks.

This is what I've always believed in, and FLAB just told me and homey about this in a thread someone revived today. It's just that people complain about thread revival, but if that person hadn't searched for the thread in the first place, then he/she would've recreated it, thus creating more complaints, even if the post is completely on-topic and addresses the same problem someone else had...

Although, that's just a personal issue. :)

Well to a degree, bringing up mass amounts of dead topics can result in warnings.
