making my own scenery help please...

Ok...im making my own scenery .bmp files in photoshop.i found that if i make themĀ  with a florecent green background then the scenery object shows up by itself as if it was a normal scenery..but this only seems to work for my friends map edditor..on mine the green background is still visable with the scenery object when placed on the map..why is this only going on with my edditor and how do i fix it....also be noted that the other pre existing .bmp scenerys with a green background work just fine and only show on the edditor as the scenery object...any help as to what i have set wrong will be helpfull...i am using soldat polyworks ty.

If you have any troubles understanding what i mean please post your questions and i will try to put it in diffrent terms...

Hm. So there is no transparency in the scenery on your editor, but there is on your friend's. What map editor are you using? And his?

Just try making png sceneries with alpha channel. They'll work fine everywhere... I think that bmp sceneries shouldn't be created any more...

we are using the same polyworks...but im talking about creating my own scenery totaly and then adding it to the scenery folder within soldats main folder...and yes i have the ability to make things transparent....what im saying is in the construction of the scenery file i cant seem to make it be just an object i always have a colored box surrounding my image that shows up when i actually apply the image to the map..i need the colored box to go away...so that i can have for example:a dog without a box surrounding it...

Just try making png sceneries with alpha channel. They'll work fine everywhere... I think that bmp sceneries shouldn't be created any more...

Alpha channel is a special black-and-white layer of image that determines it's transparency - the darker colour is the greater transparency is. In png images it allows you to obtain semi-transparency. If you are using bmp's with green-coloured transparent areas that green part is being transformed to alpha channel before rendering the image in-game.
Also png are much more smaller then bmp, but don't cause any image glitchs as jpg do.

Ty so much problem solved but all i had to do was magic wand it and use the background eraser then save as .png  .... if it wasnt for you pointing out to use .png i wouldnt have gotten so far with trouble shooting tho.so all props to virtual thanx homie.... :)
