Soldat is now unplayable.
« on: April 29, 2007, 07:19:05 pm »
Soldat is my all-time favorite (free) online game. But now it is unplayable and was a complete waste of time to make this new version.I think i speak for everyone when I say,I want 1.3.1 back!

Well first when i try to get on,i get an error saying"cannot open file intro/something/something"Fix??

Then I try to change my outfit,as it deleted all my clothes and stuff from 1.3.1 and it wont allow me to use custom colors,it just freezes and I have to alt f4 and re-open it.fix??

Then I try to play, well it will either say "connection accepted" but it won't actually join the game and will freeze. or it will go to a gray screen and an error pops up saying "Access violation at address 0056DF6F in module "SOLDAT.EXE" read of address FFFFFFFF.FIX???

And I uninstalled it from my PC and re downloaded it and installed it and now I cant even open the client it says "direct X 8 or better must be installed, something, something. But I have direct X 9 installed on my computer.

My computer is old,but is over most of the requirements if not right on track. Im very dissapointed in this version. how do I fix all these???

1. Uninstall Soldat.
2. Reboot. (just to be safe)
3. Reinstall Soldat.
4. Reboot.
5. Open the Soldat configuration program.
6. Check "Video Compatibility" under the "More" tab.
7. Run Soldat.
8. Report changes in the situation.

The problems will be fixed, you just need to be patient.  There are workarounds for some of the problems you've mentioned, please look through the first few pages of topics in this board.
