Strange insight into Soldat coding ... Part III
« on: May 01, 2007, 09:17:06 pm »
Yep, after finding two other widdle problems in the game, I've suddenly stumbled upon another Smile. My god is this a big one. Here, I'll let you guess what the glitch is ...

...

Guess yet ? Alright, I have to break this : I can repeatedly create the 'crouch' glitch ! Oh yeah ! Alright, it isn't a zero-day glitch that'll cause the entire Soldat network to grind to a halt, but it's pretty dang cool. Now on to theories : a couple things hit the Socom. One was that it had the 'ol 255 ammo cap, and, more importantly, was that the bullets do not trail the cursor. Yep, no matter how you direct the gun it'll always fire out in one direction Smiley.

So how do these relate to the crouch bug ? They don't. And that's the problem. If it were related, than it'd be (relatively) simple to fix. But relative to what you ask ? Well, relative to diving through the code to find  something hidden real deep in there.

But hey, MM rules and has probably already found out what's wrong. I'm just here to show off cool glitches Smile.

[linkie] (It's on FileFront, and is a .zip containing a demo and the weapons.ini I used).

P.S. This is a reposting, but it's taking over three hours to get my other thread moved here ... so yeah.

The preferred outcome of war is peace. Ironic, huh ?

Your previous thread was in the correct section.  I'm locking this one. :)
