Question.
« on: May 03, 2007, 01:41:54 pm »
Is there a possible way to turn a Soldat demo (.sdm) into some manageable format such as .wmv, .avi, or .mpg?

Or do I have to record it with Fraps?

The main reason I don't want to use Fraps is because of computer craptacularness. It uses too much CPU and space on the HDD.
Don't say that you're Magic. Because you aren't, and I am.
All-around good with weapons that aren't long range, except in TW.
Now be careful out there, soldier.

Unfortunately you have to record it with Fraps or any other screen capture program. Fraps is in my opinion the best when it comes to DirectX applications.

CRAP!

TY anyway.

I just hate how Fraps slows Soldat down so much....I end up with around 5 FPS.

I'll try to find a good capture one, that is not Fraps.

Actually, there is a way to get Soldat to export .sdm files as a lot of .BMPs. Check it out at the bottom of this section of the Soldat manual.
Short version: Soldat.exe -demo [demo name] 0 100 1 1 to get Soldat to turn off text and dump .bmps of the demo.
