Soldat refuses to open after forwarding my ports.
« on: May 13, 2007, 04:21:36 pm »
Alright, so I attempted to forward my ports so that I could make a server on Soldat. I followed everything right, set up a static IP, forwarded the ports, all that good stuff. Everything worked fine, my internet didn't explode in my face or anything, so I assumed that I had done everything correctly. I went to boot up Soldat, but it gave me this. "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

So I assumed I managed to screw something up, as I knew I would. I reinstalled Soldat and it gave me the same error. Then I went back and undid all of the crap I did to forward my ports. And still no luck. I'm rather lost at this point.

Do you have AVG or NOD32?

I have AVG, but I keep it turned off. Like, I can't see the Soldat icon either. It didn't tell me anything about a trojan, but I am pretty sure it has to do with me attempting to forward my ports.

No, I don't think so. This just happened to me as well. I went to go play Soldat, and the entire Soldat.exe file was just gone into thin air. So I found out that AVG is a complete piece of crap, shut it off, and reinstalled the entire thing. Now, it keeps giving me that Windows permission thing whenever I try to run it. What is going on?

Must be the anti-virus program because the ports have nothing to do with Soldat not starting.

OBEY!!!

Hm, it's not my virus scanner. I turned it completely off.

No, that doesn't stop it. After I completely uninstalled AVG soldat worked again. I think maybe just telling AVG to release everything that is in its Virus Vault may do the trick.
