Should I leave it TW? Or move it to CTF?

It looks good, but it doesn't look like a good TW..

Ctf_TW_TerritoryWar!

Hello everyone, I just wanna say I''m new here, and I love Soldat! :D
I've been observing and watching.. and I figured out I want to make my own map.
So here it is! My first map!  :)

Its called: CTF_TW TerritoryWar
I think it would to be a CTF map, but how about TW? If it isn't a good TW map I'll take minimal jets off, and I'll put "CTF" instead of "CTF_TW"
I hope the map doesn't look bad, I worked a lot on it.

It's really good but my major complaint is about poly structure.
Go wild and play with a more natural breast layout. Make the lowest part of the map a little more natural and random. Don't make it so nice and straight.  Also you could stretch the textures a little. And of course you could add the background for the tunnels etc.

For your first this looks really nice and playable. Maybe a little short for a TW map but it's well organized and I think that your other maps will be even better...
I'm surprized how good it acually plays. Guess that new mappers are getting better and better

Ok, I'll do that more :), I will add more scenery to it. By the layout, do you mean top or bottom part? The top it pretty rough, but the bottom, I can agree on. It does seem very flat and straight.

and yes the area below the bridge shouldn't be that boxed. Looks like you could handle making it a little more like a slope or something...

EDIT:Count one vote to the second option in the poll. I accidentaly pressed the first option...

Ok, 1 vote to second. And yes, I can handle it :) I made the map myself, and I surely know how to give it some edges. I'll go wild with it, like you said. Be expecting an up-date, it will say on the topic title.

  • SML - proper map hosting, if you are using forum attachments only forum members can download your map.
  • Archive with the map should packed properly. I recommend to use MPA in order to pack your maps.

tw doesn't mean long flat ctf map... it should provide gameplay with maximum realism, every detail of the map should have tactical significance...
I suggest to start mapping with small dm maps to learn to keep proportions, to create proper polygon structure, to make waypoints, etc.

VirtualTT Thank you so much for your help. Yes, I will use SML, and MPA. And I will also take your advice, and make small Dm maps, and learn polygon structure.

TW maps need to be flat. Tunnels destroy the gameplay.
