I want to make it so the remains of a player don't vanish when that player respawns.  Any idea how to make that happen?

Unfortunatly, it can't happen yet. Every time it has been suggested, it has been turn down because of "lag and hiding under bodies."
Honestly, I would like to see it as an option.

yeah, me 2...  Everyone who supports this, speak up and bump it. Maybe we can gather enough support to change THE CREATOR's mind.

I belive Keron Cyst said it best:
Permanent bodies would be an awesome option lag generator.
Fixed!
I find it impossible to argue with that.

I would only support this, even in light of the potential lag, if you could step on the corpses and make squish sounds with an occasional blood vessel popping and spurting as you run.

Or, as an alternative, it could be client-side so you choose to decrease your skill through lag, and you make yourself look like a moron firing at what you see is a corpse but what actually shows to be just ground on everyone else's screen :P

It would have to be a client-side option otherwise it would lag everyone to hell.

It'd be okay in survival mode... But also think about what happens when you get buggy corpses (ones that float and spaz out when they get caught in a polygon)

You'd have alot of that going on all over the place..

Yes, that would be cool if you could step on the corpses and make squish sounds.  And yes, it would be client-side.

Yes, this is one way I support this.

What about something like, if you have the option "Bodies Stay" on, after the dead body should dissapear, the server sends you a info where the body would be, and from now on, it would be client-generated? I don't think it would cause that much lag. You couldn't interact with it in anyway (Well, unless you call pissing on it an interaction), it wouldn't have effects on your bullets or anything. It would be just like a moving scenery.
