difference between port and joinport?

I've always assumed that port and joinport should be set to the same thing.... but what is this for?  I've got a few guesses, and finally I'd like to know the right answer

In the server, it is never used. Its the port the game client opens for its UDP stuff

The joinport is never used or the port is never used?

Joinport is not used.

It's the last joined port (client).

EDIT: coupled with Default_Remote_Host
