I just had the wonderful idea to change thow wep to my secondary thumb button.

Hmm... The middle mouse button eh? I'd suggest something different.
Seeing as the 'throw knife' action is the same with any weapon('cept only the knife does damage when being thrown), I'd set mine to some key that you're not likely to press by mistake. Mine, back when I played, was set to spacebar.
