Mapbug script

I am looking for a mapscript what should do like this:

When map is changing, and it detects a mapbug from next map, it jumps over that buggy map to next map.

(I'm total noob at scripting ::))

Probably when the majority of the clients doesn't receive the packet that tells them to move on to the next map, and they get wrong map version detected... or something along those lines.

I'm afraid it's not possible though.

That's something for MM to fix.  perhaps by resending that changemap packet with some interval would be a simple way of fixing it and then synchronizing client with server again.  It does get annoying sometimes when you get disconnected due to poor connection...

Well, theres 1 thing you could do and thats to check if the timeleft isnt 00:00 for longer than 5 seconds.
If it is, the new map wasnt loaded, causing the mapbug

That could only be done with client-side scripting. The client doesn't receive the packet due to packetloss; the server just moves on to the next map since it assumes the client did receive that.

Actually the mapbugs are caused by the server not being able to load the new map, while the clients did recieve the change-map packet.
At least, those are the type of mapbugs i have on my 2 climbservers (at least 10 daily)

Haven't seen a single one of those... o_O
And if the server is unable to load a map it just loads the next one. So meh.. I can't come up with a good way to prevent the server side version of it (if it even exists; I have never heard of it).

It usually loads the new map, but not always..

Heres a log showing the mapbug, flood-logbug, not-allowed-weapon bug all in one, fantastic!

As you can see it took 2 minutes to change the map, apparently it wasnt voted (it didnt say 'counting map votes')
Im not sure if this is caused by the server being laggy because of the log-flooding, but having a maperror for 2 minutes isnt good for any server :)

BombSki is right, i have that problem in my climb server too. And the server doesn't move to the next map, it goes back to the same map, and it appears completely bugged (respawn positions get screwed, deadly polys don't work..), at least for me. Same happens to you BombSki?

Indeed, the server cant load the new map while the clients do 'see' the new map. The refresh packet of the server says its still playing the old map, with 00:00 left (unless the new map was voted, in which case the counter will just go on)

I HATE it when that happends.. I used to mess around in a climb server that I had to admin to and I had to /nextmap many times because of this.. and that was hard sense it usually kicked me after 4 secs for having the wrong map :)

But I have to click it on my desktop, ARSSE, and its behind my Soldat, and I would have to press the desktop button on the bottom left corner of my screen, and it takes too long to get my mouse down there :) so Soldat would b faster. lol

Well in any case, it's something MM should fix and not us through scripting.  This is a universal problem.  Scripts are there to add more fun to some servers but you can't rely on it to fix all your problems - not every runs scripts but everyone faces this problem.  So you should rly put this in the Bugs section if anything...

That happens when you
a) Upload a corrupted map
b) Didn't enter the map name with correct case
c) Has an empty map list.
d) You havent given the user running the server read/write permission to the map

What exactly would the file permissions be for all the maps?
Ive got owner = read/write
and group/public = read

i dont think its the file settings though, because as the person above me stated, a specific map can bug once, but work when u try it right afterwards. it doesnt seem to be time/map/setting specific.

however it does seem to happen more often when the server was full, and people are trying to download the new map (which hasnt been loaded yet) from the server.
