Idea 1:
 
I see that only little part of moders/mapmakers etc. post their work using mounted uploader (post attach). I think that there could be official soldat forums file hoster that would work like for exapmle FileFront. Everyone who would want to upload there something would have to activate his/her account and then he/her would can upload files to for example ~15mb. Account wouldn't need registring (but you must be registred on Soldat forums) it would be just activate and it would capture nickname etc. from soldat forums profile.

Idea 2:

There could be also added something like 2nd signature (it won't be displayed under posts PM's etc.) It would be enabled to see in users profile details (click nickname). User would can post there links to his mods threads etc.

I hope that you would like at least one of my ideas :) And sorry if I wrote something unclearly. If you wan't me to explain something better just tell me.

Can you explain to me why we can't just have more people use the uploader here?  It is more convenient, probably faster, and the files will never be deleted.  It would take a lot less work just to use the uploader here rather than create a whole new way for people to upload/manage files

how about an option for a search on only posts with attachments, to find say, a specific comic or whatever.

I think it's because they literally don't SEE the ability to do so. If you could copy the file attachment HTML into Quick Reply (maybe in the bottom-left, under the description or something), and/or make Additional Options... expanded by default, people might use it more.

I'll look into having that expanded by default.  If it'll help, I'll also increase the maximum allowed attachment size.  Since the soldatforums will be moving to MM's new server in the next few weeks, we'll have virtually unlimited space for attachments with the ability to just add more hard drives as needed
