Soldat won't work on 2 comp at same time.

Ok so when 1.4 came out, my brother and I installed it but the only new problem we got with this new version is that we could NOT play both at the same time.  Even in different servers.  If I was playing and he'd try to join any server, it would make mine crash to menu.

Now, with 1.4.1 and a new server version too, the problem is still there.  I'd really like some help on this as it's quite an annoying problem.

Both our computers are connected to the same router and we both have Windows XP.  Both computer have Zonealarm installed. If you need any other info just ask.

Edit: We also have the same external IP.

I haven't tested it, but try changing the Port and JoinPort settings of each client so they are different; hopefully that might fix the issues you are having.

JoinPort is the latest joined port, the actual local port is randomized. And well, Port is just for servers.

It can be the configuration of your router.

Soldat actually does some port binding on startup; hence why if you run the dedicated server on the same computer as the client, you need to start the server first or the client will bind the port and the server will crash.

Like I said though, it's untested if it will actually help, but it's all I can offer.

Please create threads with more descriptive topics/subjects.  "1.4.1 problem" "help me" "please help" "1.4.1 didn't fix it"


Instead create topics like "two people can't play together" "soldat closes on join" "can't change taunts in 1.4.1"
