Beta 1 version

Hey all,
I am happy to release the 2nd version of Sytrus´ older map tw_Wüstenschlacht.
He offered me to do a remake of his map, so i did it [with a good improvement i think].

I fixed/changed the following things:

  • I fixed the "messy" polygon structure+more polygons
  • I added more scenery in it
  • I made the center building more complex and bigger
  • I added boundaries at the external part of the map [The flags are on top of them so u can´t cap]
  • I added some houses
  • And i shaded the map completely new


Now here´s the -=OLD OVERVIEW=- of the map [original map by sytrus]

And here are some new pictures:

Waypointed: No! [I´m too dumb for this]
Recommended players: 6-8

Dimensions: 4293x1254

Beta 2. version

Hey all,
I am happy to release the 2. Beta version of my map TW_Wüstenschlacht2

  • I improved the shading
  • I I added a background image

The smoke coming from the blast holes looks alright. The shading is kinda crazy lookin like  you might've went through and just randomly clicked (with some decency).

It looks decent though. Layout looks alright. I would download it, but at the moment, I can't.

By the way, I haven't looked at any other pictures except for the main overview.

@Fireblade: Uhm, i used this mass of polygons because when u use so much polys u r able to shade the map more complex! That´s why! ;)

That random-looking shading is ugly, other than that its a pretty decent map.
But no really, that hideous ill-tempered rabbit-sucking coloring job is just... ugly.

hey.. i LOVE that shading, it makes the map look real

The map does not look realistic with all of that sloppy shading. :P

Also, it's pretty short for a trenchwars map.  You should make it longer.

the polys are really random and not stretched or edited. The ground is too blockey, you should smooth out the corners a little more or make the ground have more polys on it.

Not a very good map. The gameplay is boring, ugly textures, ugly bunkers, and its really impossible to get a good rhythm for movement across the map.

The map needs some minor improvements.  But overall, its a decent map.

The shade of the ground is very aleatory but this map is better than Tw_Wüstenschlacht... Nevertheless good job!

i like this map, nice shading and *blah* *blah* *Blah* but as the other dudes say, try make it longer and maby change the texture and maby make a background?
and yeah, call it a beta ^^ keep on the work and this will be great!

another thing... if i make a GREAT CTF map, something like the other TW's, can i make it TW_*something*? i thought TW was a mark of the maker, like SS (Son Sukka)
