Yeah, I've thought of that too. Would be great but some servers have less than 3 grenades, rendering the weapon near to useless ._.

well...they can grab another pack...

Yeah, but you're pretty much unarmed until you find one.

@Kryp -- go buy some skills. use /command to bring up the commands.

it isnt hard to find one, most of the soldat maps there are nade packs every 100m(soldat scale)
on CTF maps there are nades on both alpha and bravo's base. and + in a normal soldat match you dont last long, usually you die way before you could fire 3 or 4 shells(unless you are playing safe)

that'll teach m79 campers

Yeah, I'm starting to like this normalnade-ammo thingie. It would also stop them from spamming you with 4+ grenades everytime they missed  [retard]

Doing what ChromedGun described in the first post almost kills us m79 users. It leaves practically one-shot-killable with any weapon.

Sorry if this is a bit of a bump, I haven't checked and I'm not sure.

How so? If you M79 someone in a tunnel, right in your face, you don't receive much selfdamage, which annoys the shit out of the person who died. If you're at least left with almost no health, the person dead will get some satisfaction when you die from a stray bullet.

Yeah, I hate when M79'ers always kill me at point blank range while they always run through the explosion and run away undamaged. That gave me an idea.

Raise selfdamage to double the damage on anyone else  ;)
This will make their sorry plans backfire raising the "risk" of their corpse getting leaved in the place rather than yours. It takes NO skill to kill someone with m79 in a tunnel because no matter where you hit, splashdamage will kill the enemy. What if splashdamage was actually lethal to the M79'er too? It isn't enough as it is.

(Spare the replies of the "ZOMG DNOT REPAR WAHTS NOT BRKOEN", "ZOMG DNOT DO DAT 2 MY FAVORIT WEPON TAHT I CNA ONLY USE", "No, there won't be anymore changes to the weapons because no one is working on Soldat anymore. 1.4 is the final version (bla bla bla super-besserwisser)"-nature. No one wants to read them. No talk about how many times it has already been suggested either.)
I agree with this all.

The explosion radius only goes so far, and, most of the time, when the explosion actually, well, explodes, we tend to not be there.

Perhaps it just appears to you that we are running straight through the heat of the explosion, just because of high ping, or maybe it's just an optical illusion, but if we do happen to explode ourselves, we won't die, only if we're on full health, because the person we shot is at the center of the explosion, not us. We still have at least a gun's length between the one-hit-kill-zone and the oshit-that-hurt-like-hell-zone, where we are.

If ever you see this happen, the m79'er either gets hurt like hell, and you just haven't realised it, or lag made it look like the m79'er should have been hurt like hell, or killed when they really shouldn't have, or, in very few cases it may have just glitched.

Think about it.

If any of that made sense.

I pretty much think it should be 100% self and normal damage. I can't think of a real good reason why not.

It would only kill those n00bs that kill at short range. Those who consider themselves 1337 with the M79 shouldn't be affected.

That's always been the thing that really annoys me with the m79. The point blank shot to somebody right beside them and they're not even bloodied while the other guy dies.

I always use the explosives.
Explosives are fun, I like to fire a law, quickly change to the M79, fire two off or so and throw nades everywhere and kill as many of those damned blues as I can... Saying if I am on the red team, if I am o blue, those reds better watch out...

I love explosives, get over it. =D

the m79 ALREADY has a big selfkill damage

frankly, if the person using it hasnt hurt himself, then he probably didnt shoot you that close and has lagged or something

either that, or the game is a bit buggy. the solution to that is simple - bugfix the m79 more

i mean back in the old days when barrets were still instant shot people complained how the m79 would do crazy things like double explosioins or exploding on the wrong spots all the time etc.etc.

maybe we still have a similar like problem where the person shooting the m79 doesnt actually see the explosion hitting him but the other person does.

and lastly, m79 already has quite a large bink so..
