Trampoline polygons
« on: July 03, 2006, 05:22:52 pm »
I have noticed that in one map, db_starball...
on each side, there is a polygon that is either red or blue depending on the team.
Any player who jumps on the polygon bounces up automatically, and if they hold jump down on top of the polygon, they bounce waaaaaaay up...

To make my maps more interesting, i'd like to know how to make these "trampoline" polygons... please?  :-X

P.S. im not sure if it is a hack or a scripting mod!  ???

this is a glitch in the original mapmaker when you put alot of polys over each other
There are other worlds than these

You can do it by using PolyWorks as well. No difference.
Oh la la.

well, the point is that bouncey polys is just a bug on mm(map maker) and on pw this shouldve been fix at it is fixed its jsut some of the maps were made before the bug was fixed.

its not a bug in the mapmaking programs, it's a glitch in soldat ;)

here's a list of effects:

5 polys: very slow to move over
10: small jumps
20: mediocre jumps
30: huge jumps
50: teleporter on short range
100: teleporter on long range
300+: Nuclear Polygon (evil)

But b4 I do, does the polygon only bounce you away if you stand on it? Or if you touch it in ANY directions? :P

What are you saying?

you will be sent to the direction the poly is facing towards

:P sorry!

Will you bounce away from the poly if you hit it in any direction? Like if you hit it from the left, you'd bounce to the left?
