The research I found for the argument that video games are addictive was just a survey of tweens and teens who just said that they "felt like they where addicted" These are children, they don't know what an addiction feels like. Its just like the morons who interview the little kid playing doom and the ridiculously easy to manipulate child says "I'm killing people."

exactly what i was trying to express.  nobody is really addicted to video games, they just think they are because the concept of addiction has been blurred beyond any trace of what it really is.  a video game addiction is the same as someone going on an anime message board and talking about "OMG IM OBSESSED WITH ANIME ^_^ JAPANJAPANJAPAN".  it's not an addiction, it's just something that happens when a mentally stunted person has a great interest in something.

Well, from what ive been reading here in this topic the term 'addiction' is false. Perhaps a better word to describe this would be 'simulated addiction' - where you aren't actually addicted but it seems to close to an actual addiction that most people can't tell the difference. Maybe we should list out some facts regarding real and 'simulated' addictions?
