and there are no noob/newb weapons

True that. Every weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses. M79 is pretty easy to dodge... I dont get WHY they call it noobish. Minigun kinda lags ppl, but I dont think its noobish, just annoying. :>

When I first started, I didn't know how to connect to a server so I played against bots like 2 nights all night long. It was vers 1.1.5.. Then I finally figured out how to fix the lobby and got to join servers. So, after playing against bots I was already pretty good and on the top of the lists after a game..
then a certain guy picked me out to join a clan, yay.
I do miss the good old days.
Soldat used to be much more fun. The people used to be much more fun too.
sniff sniff.  :(

and you never had to put up with the constant nagging of n00bs who think they're better then everyone else, but only end up with 5 points at the end of a 100 point game....

back then barely anyone boasted about how much they rule even though they sucked.....

but then again they're weren't many good mods back then :P

What the rest of us call "nooby" weapons or "noob cannons" are guns that require less or minimal skill to use compared to the other guns. That's why the M79 is a key candidate for this; its a no-delay, explosive one-hit kill gun.

I feel we have gotten a bit off topic though.

I do miss 1.3.1, that was the version that I loved. AK74 <3

mm, when I first started playing and tested out all the guns, I could never hit anything with the M79 nor barret. Spas, aug and ak were alot better for me and required less skill in my case. Therefore there are no noob weapons and it is all individual which of the guns require less skill for you. Sure, I see alot of the so called "noobs" with the M79 just walking and standing then firing the gun whenever an enemy gets close and camping with the barret, and that does make it "nooby", but so it does to every gun whenever a newb like that uses it  ::)

All of the guns require skill equally.

Oh and I still cant hit anything with the barret nor M79. Something sure, but I'm not skilled with them. Yes if I played more with them, trained, I'd learn to hit pretty quickly, but so as every gun you need training and experience to become good = skill.

I agree in part of what you said.

Some of us have different preferences in what a gun can do, therefore are just naturally better with what a gun can do because it "fits" you.

But to me and almost everyone here, the M79 is a weapon with a simplistic arc; it's fairly hard to miss in a standard situation. And even if you do, you usually get some shrapnel damage. It's a consolation for missing. It's hard to fail with it, thats what I'm trying to say, unless you miss entirely.

Barret is less forgiving, but it's range accounts for it. I am not whining about the barret, and no one here really is, so I'll stick to the M79.
