SNOW BROS
« on: July 07, 2006, 08:26:59 pm »
On the 7th of July, some friends and I went on a ski trip and after skiing, we found an arcade machine called Snow Bros.
BEST ARCADE GAME EVER
The first night we played it, we wasted $20, got to the last level and got a game over, but we weren't going to let this game slide that easily. The next night, we got fifty dollars in $1 coins and beat that motherfucker out of the water with $18 to spare.
The top scores go as follows:
1. WAD 208,000
2. ACE 105,000
3. BEN 91,000
(the original top score was 79,000)

I So have any of you guys ever been determined to beat an arcade game? This is the first ever real arcade game that I've beaten and I loved every second of it (all fiddy levels). Aaaaand, if any of you poopers happen to live near Perisher or know of the Station Resort in NSW, drop on down to the Snow Bros. machine in the Pizzeria and have a game.

Yes, $50. We're a sad bunch.

Michael Jackson's MOONWALKER is the only arcade I've really really liked, and there was one at Cassini Ranch near guernville, got highscore up until it was removed.

I've always loved Metal Slug on the arcade.  Never tried Snow Bros. though.

Heh, compared to playing an emulator at home or actually playing the machine in an arcade... I'd choose the arcade anyday.
But, whilst emulators have been mentioned, does anyone know of a good arcade machine emulator and where I could get some decent arcade roms? I give great head.

I actually own the arcade boards for Snow Bros. and Moonwalker (and Metal Slug on MVS). You people have good taste. :) Snow Bros. is a really fun game, especially in two-player, and it's much more fun and easier to deal with than Bubble Bobble. Moonwalker is a fantastic action game that's really difficult to classify... kinda beat-em up, but it has a lot of shooter elements to it.

The Genesis port of Moonwalker was a disappointment -- it's still a good game, but it was a very different game than the arcade game. The Japanese MegaDrive actually got a port of Snow Bros. as well, which is disgustingly rare and expensive, but it supposedly has additional levels and bosses. I'd imagine the Genesis should be able to easily pull off the port, though I do wonder about slowdown and such.

Moonwalker is awesome. I used to play it on my old sega master system II all the time.

I love being Michael Jackson and rescuing children from doors and car trunks 8 ))))) (and they're about waist high... the right size to suck hi-- umm.. nvm)

Hah, I just tried Snow Bros and I must say it's quite fun.

Lucky me, I live close to an almost decent arcade... they have two Metal Slug machines so I should be kept pretty occupied there for a while.
btw, is all I have to do to play the games on that website is register and install java?

You don't need to register. It uses java so I guess that would help.....

WELL I REGISTERED ANYWAY
Compared to the acrade version, this version is pretty shit. It's too slow and the graphics give me a migraine. I'm much happier with Super Dodgeball.

Google up MAME my friend, I used to have it to play metal slug. However arcade ROMS are much more difficult to get than NES and SNES roms for example.
