Friend gets kicked for no reason
« on: August 22, 2007, 08:49:33 pm »
My friend, {S+S} PB&J, keeps getting kicked from servers for either "Flood Kick" or "Possible Cheating". He is my neighbor, and I know for a fact he DOESN'T HACK. What's up with this?

Flood kick is when you repeatedly post taunts like this.

"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"
"You got owned"

And you keep posting those taunts continuously for about 20 taunts, the server will automatically flood kick you for 20 minutes.  This isn't a setting, this is just how the Soldat dedicated servers work.

Some servers will possibly vote-kick someone if they are cheating.  You can't really do anything about this, just make sure that he doesn't cheat and this shouldn't appear at all.  This most likely pops up when the server detects suspicious activity and it thinks the player is hacking.

He never uses taunts, and he doesn't hack. :P

If he doesn't use taunts and he's flood kicked, it could also mean his ping is extremely high on the server he's playing on and basically he's lagging the shit out of it.  So the server automatically kicks/bans him.

If you're sure he doesn't hack/cheat then that vote-kick cheat system shouldn't appear and it has nothing to do with BattlEye, just so you know.

It does not vote him like it does for some people; he just gets instantly kicked for "Possible Cheat".

And he wasn't lagging the times he got flood kicked. I know this all looks like he's hacking, but I'm sure he isn't.

DSL.
We usually are on servers where our ping is < 150.

He might just have a ****ty computer?  How is his game-play experience (besides getting kicked) on servers?  Does his character warp a lot?  lag a lot?  Again, that question is asking how he sees himself in the server...
Can't think of anything original to put here...

He is playing on a fine computer for it, I've used it myself. He doesn't lag or warp. He just gets kicked.
