Its not a bug. It was changed because virtually no person's IP address will stay the same for 30 days, and because banned.txt doesn't need to be full of permanent bans when after about 7 days the person banned will give up trying to join.

I tend to agree with Damien on this issue. As server Administrators/owners I believe they should have the ability to ban hackers/stalkers and people who generally annoy a group of players for a time that the Administrators decide is right for their servers. I also disagree with your comment about IPs generally changing after 30 days. I know of many, many examples where that isn’t the case and this feature now will create more work as the people that have been banned for what the Administrators see as good reason, will again be able to access that particular server.

Please don’t think stalking doesn’t happen. It does and its not a pleasant experience.

i all so noticed that the ban last command now only bans a player for 60 min which is kinda ridiculous.

maybe in the next version or make a patch that makes it so the server administrator can set the  ban times in the server.ini or the soldat.ini

i don't know if its just me but it makes more sense to allow the administrator  to dictate the time of the bans in some way

and i agree with Aggie completely, all so it will be vary annoying to have to keep re banning the same jerk every month because he or she  likes to use hacks or abuse other people in the server or what not

as well i disagree on your reasonings for the 30 day thing seeing as i have seen a lot of people who keep the same ip for years  my self have kept the same ip for 3 years and this is because of cable and dsl modems which most people have now a days

really though it should be up to the administrators running the servers to choose how long they want some one banned for.
