Legal Registration/Access Violation
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:21:49 pm »
I posted in another thread about the problem but I cant seem to get an answer ( if there is one) or a solution. I can enter a game and as soon as i press the T or / or F1 or a command key i get the access violation box pop up.

I paid for my registration legally 12 to 18 months ago. I have never used hacks or cheats (wouldnt even kno how to intall them) and I dont use mods. I was, up untill a few days ago, running 1.4.1 with no problems whatsoever. I upgraged to 1.4.2 not using the patch but the full download and straight away this happened. I searched the forums here for solutions.

I have uninstalled and removed every trace of soldat 3 times and installed fresh downloads to no avail.

From what I've read, the AV seems to "supposedly" only occur if you have a "cracked" key. This isnt the case for me.

While I know the developers are more than likely busy with attempting to fix the issue, I, in the meantime, are wondering if there may be another solution to try or if I'm just clutching at straws.

If I have to buy a new registration, I will, but please let me know. I'm sure if i gave the relevant people my full name and email address etc they could check me out as proof of my original legal registration.

Have you set your resolution and bitrate to equal your desktop resolution and bitrate?

Registration even if stolen or cracked, doesn't cause Access Voilation.
It's your video card issues
go to Soldat\Txt, open fonts.ini and change FontMenuSize
to FontMenuSize=13 (or higher number)
if that doesnt help change
FontConsoleSize=9 (or 10 or higher)
If that won't work go to your soldat directory, right mouse click on soldat.exe
Chose properities
Then open it in Windows 98/ME format.
Hopes that will help.

Geekier than you!

Correct, they actually do. Actually, it's been done for a while, it just happens that a few popular keys were recently added to the blacklist so that more people are experiencing it.

So that's why so many people are whining about access violations.
